My Huawei M5 8" tablet is rather tired nowadays.
What's the best Android tablet for under £300?

Is there xiaomi that meets your requirements? The pad 5 is slightly over £300.

This is probably worth a look,
I'm not a fan of apple but this is actually a really good budget tablet, and ive always been a bit dissapointed with android tabs, touch sensitivity, screen quality lagginess mainly, rather than the android OS.
I bought it for my nan but she passed away so now I have it, and it's quite impressive to be fair.
The apple OS infuriates me at times, being an android/windows person, but it's really snappy and slick, and the screen is good.
Nokia T10 or T20? I've got the T10 and it's decent enough for what I need.
Thanks, I'll have a look at those
I'd rather not have an iPad but there's not many Android options.
Did anyone have the new OnePlus tablet? I know it's ~£450 but it should be good
I've got a Samsung S6 lite which is pretty good.
It's £350, but Argos are doing a £100 cashback deal at the moment.

I've got one too and really pleased with it. Better than the cheaper ones if had before and probably better value in the long run too.
Been pretty impressed with the Oppo Pad air for £200....very nicely made tablet for the Dosh and seems well specced too.
Typing this on an S6 lite, well worth a look if you can get a good deal. The S pen lite is far more useful than I gave it credit for when I got it and the tablet is more than powerful enough to run a couple of apps at the same time. Good screen and speakers as well.
The S6 Lite like a good deal.
It's been around a couple of years now, does it still get OS and security updates?
If you have access to perks at work (and if not then just try it to register), then you can get access to Samsung's EPP portal and get the s6 lite for about 150 after trade in and cash back.
I contacted Samsung and they said that even the 2022 S6 Lite is designated as a 2020 device so the 4 years of OS updates run out in 2024. Arse
not trying to disuade you, as i'm in a similar spot.
I've been running a flip chromebook for a few years; they can run all android apps now, and if you flip in the right way, it is just a tablet.
bit thicker though. But then more capable as well!
I bought a Xiami Redmi Pad a few weeks ago - some of the models would fit into the sub £300 brief. It's fast, 2K screen, MicroSD slot etc and seems to work very well for everything I've used it for (primarily media consumption).
I went for the 6GB RAM model which is just over your budget from UK sellers, but available from the US or Chinese grey imports for less...
Has anyone got a Lenovo tab p11 gen 2?
They're <£200 at the moment

Sounds like a good deal.
We don't have a P11, but we did get my daughter an M10 gen3 for Christmas last year.
I am not sure if it's the standard M10 or the M10 Plus - I think it's the plus model.
It's a decent tablet, although she hasn't really used it for a great deal other than games & Youtube. Screen looks OK & battery life seems decent.
It did go through a phase of just randomly turning off - not completely, just screen going blank like you'd tapped the power button. I think this was caused by a game that she'd installed though, as since clearing out a load of dubious games that just seemed to be loaded with constant ads, the problem went away.
