Just booked a few nights in Berlin over Christmas for my girlfriend and I.
It's her favourite city.
I have never been.

Any suggestions? We're staying near Potsdamer Platz if that makes a difference.

Saw some good ideas in this article: https://theculturetrip.com/europe/germany/articles/the-10-best-things-to-see-and-do-in-berlin-during-christmas/

She is a semi-vegan too - have heard there is lots of nourishment for their kind in Berlin.

Your link has some good suggestions:

Tempelhof is and impressive building to wander around. There's photo gallery and refugee camp to add interest when you walk onto the runway. Walk there from the centre via Zossenerstrasse and you'll be walking through the prosperous old West with lots of vege and vegan restaurants. There's a 30s garden city opposite the airport, a sort of German Bournville or Port Sunlight.

Book a visit to the Reichstag before you go.

Görlitzer Park if you think substances will brighten your stay.

Oranienstrasse for a kebab.

If there's no snow here we might be there ourselves visiting junior.

Plenty of Christmas markets.
Chocolate shop.
Terror museum.
Stasi HQ
Modern art museum
Potsdam for a day trip
Bburg gate
Museum Island
TV tower - queue central but great views
You can't go wrong just wandering tbh.

And for the guitarist:

The have booths where you can try all sorts of expensive kit you have no intention of buying. Madame soon got bored so I didn't get beyond the acoustic section.

Did 5 nights in Berlin at the start of July. Vegan daughter with us and there is a vegan doughnut shop on Potsdamer Platz.

Berlin Mall is just off the Platz. Top floor consists entirely of restaurants with lots of vegan options.

Great city but I have to say I was a bit weirded out by the history. The topography of terror, Berlin wall and checkpoint charlie are all 5 mins walk from Potsdamer.

There's also a fantastic traditional pub / beerhall Called Stadtklause if you walk down towards Annhalter strasse from Potsdsamer. Lots of locals and the least touristy thing we did.

If you jump on an ICE train you could visit me here in Leipzig in an hour! Failing that Prenzlauer Berg for eating and night life especially for a vegan!

I was there last year for a work Christmas treat. We did the normal sights but particularly likes the CurryWurst (which I ate lots of) and the TV tower. We also took the tram everywhere which was a good way to see the city. You must go to the Holocaust memorial too.

I really enjoy Berlin.

So many things to do

I have particularly enjoyed
Gemaldegalerie
Alte Nationalgalerie
http://burger-meister.de/en/ - before a walk along the eastside gallery
Reichstag - book a timed ticket in the booth opposite
Berliner Dom
Charlottenburg Palace

The Jewish museum is very sobering but probably worth a visit for the architecture

Transport is great and much like any city I enjoy wandering about.

Loads of great food/dink places

The swing clubs I wont go into further

All sounds positive. I figured 5 days would be enough to do the 'tourist' bits and see some more...

Will there be anything open for food on Christmas Day?
