So after lots of dicking about cutting vinyl masks by hand I've more o9r less got a badge for the kids bike on 2mm (nominal) aluminium in a shield shape 40mmx50mm.

Now I need to work out how to bend it to fit and stick it on....

Ideas?

Now bent it using a combo of vice and copper tube/lump hammer
A bit of tarting up and clearcoat then need to work out how to stick it on.

Bout to give it another go.... printing onto a vinyl sticky then cut out with a stanley knife.

I think the scoring the knife gives it helps the acid make straight lines?
Going to try brass again for the other frame as last one the vinyl came off before it was finished so going to try warming the ferric chloride

Still need to work out a way to stick them on though !!!
Maybe silicone sealant.. or shoe goo.

Ayh well, there's a few hours of my life gone...
I painstakingly cut out and tried another technique using the vinyl as a mask then painting over with the aim of removing the vinyl once the paint had dried to leave a negative.
Sadly the vinyl pulled off the paint detail.
