Decided I need a vice for the garage, lets see what you've got in the man cave

Thinking of second hand "Record" what others

2nd Hand Record is the way to go, got one for £15 earlier this year, stripped cleaned and repainted good for another 50years.

A good vice! makes life so much easier.

I have a record 36. Big daddy. Cost £90 second hand. New prices are £6-700+ Best thing in my workshop.

i got a vice from my late father, it was in his workshop for 40 years ,i kept it when we cleared out the home , i want to repaint it but not sure how, i want tamiya lime green (cotic) as he built me a radio control truck that colour when i was 13, how do i paint cast Iron ?

Another Record vice; used but mint from eBay - took a while to find one that was local for collection. Bolted to an old tubular workstand from school workshop (did have a guillotine) and some surplus kitchen worktop.

Or look on ebay for local pickup vice, there are bargains about

I have picked up mint Record vices for 10 quid recently , do not bother with rusty abused stuff unless you enjoy restoring things.

Definitely read the thread on here listed above.
