We appear to have a Bee's (bumble) nest somewhere in our roof space. There's a hole in the fascia under the gutter where an old over-flow pipe used to run and they're going in and out through that. The area behind that is stuffed with insulation. Its only appeared in the last few days so hopefully not a big colony yet.
I've been in to the loft and there's no bee's flying around in that space. So the next step is to either lift the insulation to expose the nest from the inside, or pop some vinegar or something else through the overflow pipe from the outside. I either use a long pole to do this (which I have) or walk across the roof tiles above my extension to get to the hole (which will then be sealed up).
So I'm either dealing with the bee's in a confined space in the loft, or gingerly walking across the roof tiles to apply some deterrent.
ALternatively I leave them be knowing that they should disappear after the summer, but the entrance to their hive is just next to our neighbours window who has already complained about not wanting to leave his window open (he thinks they're wasps).

Leave them bee, the colony will die in a few months and bumblebees are far from aggressive
Other than perhaps being noisy I can't see the problem. Do they wake you up in the mornings with their buzzing sounds?
I had them in the cellar last year and left them to it. They didn't really cause an issue for me. If you aren't using the loft they shouldn't bother you. Can you put some vinegar on the neighbor to deter him?
Leave them alone. Bumblebees are ace and not aggressive. It will be gone in a couple of months.
i thoguht bumble bees were solitary?
I'd tell the neighbour to get a grip. leave them alone.
Thanks, I'm inclined to leave them alone. They appear to be 'Tree Bumbles' and usually disappear after a bit. Doubtless the odd bee will appear in the neighbours room, but that could happen whether there's a nest in our roof or at the bottom of his garden.
I'll have a word and hopefully if he know's its bee's rather than wasps he'll be placated.
We had this a few years ago, except they were also finding their way in to our bathroom. I left the hive alone and we velcro'd a mesh over the bathroom window so we could still air the room but stop the bees entering. Late summer after all the hive activity stopped so I went up a ladder and blocked the hole.
