probably bumble bees work round them if you can normally fairly docile
masonary and mining bees are solitary bees and very rarely are they able to sting

Might I suggest that you don't go into your loft for the moment? On your current form there may be lions.

Why kill them? Masonary bees are incredibly docile, you can pretty much pick them up with bare hands. They're an invaluable part of the ecosystem, leave them alone!

Blow the sand away slowly using a hairdryer!

Bee numbers are declining so try not to kill them.

I thought you had 'sand in your beer'

Dam it, why didn't i think of asking the STW massive about this, Just moved to a house with a mature garden and i have 2 Bee's nests, one under a concrete flag and another in an over grown flower bed.

Looks like i will be leaving them well alone, cheers Timer.
