Don't know, and I certainly won't be making up my mind today - it's the start of Kentish Green Hop Beer fortnight today!

Anyone in Kent who's likes unusual beers should check these out - over 30 different beers, all made by local (mostly small independent) breweries - all from freshly picked rather than dried hops. Well worth checking out, but will only be available for 2 weeks!

It'll be something dark and Belgian tonight I think. Chimay of some variety I would imagine.

It'll be a bottle of the lovely dry Normandy cider I brought back from the holidays this summer. Only another 40 bottles to go and I'll have to find something else to drink.

At only €3 a bottle it would have been rude not to fill the car.

Not a huge fan of Belgian beers, too strong and too sweet.

So you're wrong, soz.

Hmm.

One beer only? Thwaites Tavern Porter OR Fullers London Porter OR their Black Cab Stout

Tomorrow it will probably change to Thornbridge Jaipur

That would depend where I was - there are dozens of beers which would do, but I think if I could choose anything, then I'd go for something from the Kernel brewery in London, something from whatever their current crop of beer might be - this time of year, probably darker without too much hop aroma, and a fair about of bitterness.

Can narrow it down to a brewery.
Wold Top Brewery
Local hops, Yorkshire water.
Not had a bad brew from them. Must refill the beer fridge.

Sunny, post ride? There can only be one:

Timmy Taylors Golden Best. Not as strong as Landlord, very drinkable and with a packet of pork scratchings contains all the essential minerals and vitamins to help you rehydrate*

if I could find an ale called 'Mr Treacle', i'd buy that. Notsure why but right now, the darker the better. in the meantime, this will have to do.

This was nice 2 weeks ago on a balmy New York day.

But any citrusy hoppy IPA is fine by me.

Doom bar, it's ok, but isn't it just a bit bland?

[EDIT] Woo, subtle image!

Good thread. Was trying to think, after a few weeks of conspicuous consumption, consisting of stag weekends, weddings and festivals, what is the most enjoyable pint I've had recently. It's this stuff:

[img] [/img]

Absolutely scrumptious. So much so I'm thinking about sending away for one of those boxes.

My untappd wishlist just got bigger.

Dunno why I looked at that Sainsbury's contest thing, and read all the reviews, cos none of the 30 beers are available in Germany.

Actually I think the local beers-of-the-world store might have one from my wishlist.

Liking the Chouffe, but I had the one out of my fridge just the other day, so it's a toss up between the Tripel Karmeliet or the Daura (gluten free Estrella) which has less consequence in the long term!
