Fancy a wee weekend in the city in March, any recommendations? Wife, little one and myself, close to centre, good breakfast is all I ask!.

You need one of these: http://bedandbreakfastnationwide.com/bb-brochure

I've stayed at the Barbican B&B before nice enough B&B and decent breakfast, nice walk into York, it's just outside the city walls.

Not a B&B, but last time I was in york I stayed at the Novotel, fantastic location.

I like the homeliness of a bed and breakfast, must be getting old!

Friars Rest is nice. I stayed in December - it's only 10mins walk to the centre, nice hosts, good brekky, comfy rooms and surprisingly cheap for its location.

EDIT - and off street car parking 30seconds walk up the road
