I had a Krups one, admittedly a few years ago. I got a better cup out of a Bialetti Moka Pot.

The Sage Bambino is a bargain currently at Amazon at £200

I sold ours 2nd hand for that. We upgraded to the top of the range Oracle. The coffee itself is slightly better but not much.

No it’s not bean to cup but you can get grinders for not much money

These seem like the most ridiculous indulgences, especially on this forum where people tend to favour sustainability and other progressive causes.

Not really, IMO.  Pricy but not massively "unsustainable"
Apart from a fairly simple processor, they're just a grinder and a pumped espresso-ish machine in a single box - not quite up there with an ocean-going hyperyacht
Mine has made nearly 30,000 coffees over many years

It's not a Nespresso.

Yes looks decent. I have a delonghi and it's been faultless for 3 years so far.
Have a look on delonghi eBay shop for refurbs. Theres currently 20% off code as well.

This is similar to mine

Yes, I've had one similar to that but without the electronic controls for 8 years. Makes good enough coffee for me, has allowed me to get my daughters addicted to coffee and has never broken down.

If you do get one, remember to lubricate the plunger in the brewing unit with silicone every 4 or 5 years - you should be able to push it up and down easily by hand.

Are you one of these new Libertarian types?

- Brexit is great, no one said it would be an instant improvement, there'll be some hard work but it will be amazing.
- Climate change is a grift to line the pockets of the elite and impose control over the populace.
- CoViD restrictions were put in place to initiate the Great Reset, break world economies and install a powerful elite with the ability to control a populace made docile through the distibution of a mandatory vaccine.
- Freedom of speech, I should be able to say what I want without other people getting offended. I am entitled to my opinion.
- It's my money, I should decide what charities I want to support. I shouldn't be forced to support other people who cannot be bothered to work.
- All these lefties whining on about climate and brexit. What a bunch of snowflakes. I need to point out that they are massive hypocrites at every opportunity.

Just asking.

What, the website where middle aged blokes talk about expensive mountain bikes that get used every other week when driven half way across the country in a diesel van owned purely for the purpose of transporting said bike? Yep, the coffee machine is the issue 😉

Agreed - i reckon a bean to cup machine is waaay more enviro friendly than multiple disposable capsules.
Plus, you can sprinkle the old coffee grounds over your own and your kid's cereal for a delicious meal I call 'koffee krispies' (TM)

I got a Delhonghi bean to cup on their ebay 'seconds' store. It was something stupid like £799 RRP down to £250, the only damage to it was a barely visible scratch on one corner.

When i got it I made espressos with all the settings at max/middle/min to work out what each did to the flavour. Since then it's only needed minor adjusting to suit the particular bean, I'm very happy with it.

Went from a pod machine to a delonghi B2C. With four coffee drinkers in the house it has paid for itself and saved a fair few baby robins.

Machine was sub £300 new and makes a nice espresso etc. milk frother is excellent and it is easy to clean.

We buy KG bags of beans from lidl when available, the espresso roast seems great to my uncultured palate.
