Morning all,

We're currently installing new paving through our garden which will in part form the base of our upgraded BBQ/Pizza Oven area. I plan to use gabion baskets to form the pizza over base (Unni Pro) and top those with some rather nice concrete slabs we already have.

Similar to our current arrangement but without the shonky timber base

I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar or at the very least have a gratuitous picture heavy BBQ area thread.

These guys are friends of mine and have made an excellent BBQ area.

We like eating outside and got carried away with our bbq area and included a bar with bottle fridge and freezer, sink, pizza and tandoori oven. BBQ gets used the most, sink and fridge are very handy.

We are living out of the outdoor kitchen at the moment with the great weather so I have set the camping stove up as well. If we weren't using it so much I would get round to finishing it, I still need to build some cupboards and lay decking !

Did I kill this thread with obnoxious willy waving? Sorry if you all thought that. We did build the walls and pizza oven with reclaimed bricks cleaned up by by mrs j. The granite tops were expensive but our first attempt using biscuit jointed floor joists warped and split. The render has hidden all my bricklaying mistakes, the guys were incredibly skilled and brilliant workers.the bottle fridge was a fifty quid ebay bargain the freezer less so! Tap was ex show home and leaks, the Belfast sink 25 pound ebay job. The slab was 6 cube of concrete poured and floated over 2 long days by mrs j and me.

Hopefully this will inspire or possibly you think it is a waste of garden - I would disagree we love it

What do you keep in your kitchen? Lawnmower and bikes?
