I know it's been discussed to some extent in the F1 thread, but has there ever been a BBC presenter who's done better career wise by leaving the BBC?
Adrian Chiles and Bleakley and now the very competent Jake Humphrey - has he really just done it for the football?
Who cares, the Beeb can just 'make' another one.

Financially I would imagine all of them have.
I suppose it depends what you value
I dont know enough about the presenter or why he has left to comment directly.
I don't understand why the presenters are so well paid. Look at "Have I got News for You" it's better with the rotating presenters than it was with the original chap - its all about the script writing. There is a long line of talented people who can do the work.
Parky?
Michael Owen syndrome?

Count how many tv channels there are. When Jonathan Ross had his show on the bbc the majority of people watching a tv were watching that show. He had more audience than all the rest of those channels put together. So all those commercial and subscription channels we werent watching were prepared to offer a awful lot for his services. That said the bbc weren't the highest bidder for him at the time, so as well paid as some presenters are some are happy getting less than their market rate to stay with the bbc.
Don't see a problem; as these days BBC presenters come and go
and there doesnt seem to be a shortage Wikipedia
