Utterly love the series and DVD.
Where next? Recommendations?
In biking terms it feels like a folk 'the Collective' dvd 8)
Google/YouTube Julie fowlis. Lovely voice.
What nobeer said plus google capercaillie Karen Matheson is a great singer in this
and anything by Kathleen Macinnes
Capercaillie are a great dance band, too, in fact there's a re-mix version of one of their albums from some time ago.
I saw them play Bristol once, and there was a bloke down the front in full formal Scottish gear, kilt, fancy jacket, the works, didn't stop dancing through the whole gig!
Great band.
If you enjoy Capercaillie, you're beyond help. If not, check out Planxty for some raw folk.
Oooh that bloody Paul Brady with his tonal gravelly voice, damn those words he sings.. For some reason he gets me right..
There

I think their website is down but https://m.facebook.com/jeanalesliesiobhanmiller?_rdr

Is the new series on then?
I've been looking for Friday nights, but havent seen it on yet.
Been on BBC Alba if that helps.
Like Capercaillie, but thanks for your concern user-removed 😉
My mate helped organise the Innerleithen Music Festival - signed both Karen Matheson & Julie Fowlis, lucky man ::)
Ahh, thanks, I've been looking on BBC4 - it's usually a few weeks after Alba, so should be soon.

Saw Planxty live in about 1970, supporting Steeleye Span at Newcastle City Hall, proper Irish folk music!
I'm partial to a bit of Cappercaillie but lately have come to really like Blazin Fiddles.
