Been a fan since I was a kid (thanks dad!) - amazing player, taught Clapton all he knew 😉

Indeed, hate the racket he produces.

Hey ho.

Simple - honest - real sound.
No messing, just a big man and a guitar

You've been known to have a Nickelback CD in your possession. You have no taste in music whatsoever! This might be the turning point. More likely it's leading you to conclude that the pinnacle of his career is prancing around with Bono.

I'm sending this off my phone, so could someone post a picture of Benny Hill please? Fanks 😀

I've seen him live on his 80th birthday tour with Gary Moore. Didn't play with Gary so that was a HUGE disappointment. 🙁

He's an amazing guy, it really was a privilege to hear him play. 8)

Check out him playing 'the thrill is gone' on Gary Moore's 'the best of the blues' live album. Fantastic. 😀

Saw him twice. Second time at Manchester Apollo not long after that U2 track he did. Place was full of kids in trench coats screaming at him to play it. He played it and then very politely told them they had got what they came to see - and no Bono wouldn't be joining him on stage so they could go to the bar if they wished 🙂

I've had 'Completely Well' playing on repeat in my car for the last week. It's a glorious album, the whole band is just letting loose all the way through and then everyone switches gear when 'The Thrill Is Gone' starts, ending on a melancholic low (high?). Jerry Jemmott is killing it on bass.

Saw him at the Albert Hall years ago. Gutted when I was one seat away from getting to shakes hands with the man and get a gold plectrum to boot!

I would have loved to have gone to that festival - put on alongside the rumble in the jungle, with loads of great acts in their prime, JBs, Fela, BB, Miriam Makeba, Bill Withers...
