Where's that, DalesRider? It does seem a tad windy out and about in Skipton.

Embsay house faces South West looking out on Pendle Hill. I've turned the radio up wind doesn't sound as bad 🙂

It's front page news on the bbc website. What happened to the regional bias?

Getting worse in the Hope Valley, our office on teh first floor of the barn on the hump between Hope and Bradwell so the valley acts like a funnel.

Currently watching the photographer's chocolate Lab getting blown across the car park, hilarious!

Its not as bad as that January 3rd gale here yet but its picking up.

When I was in Orkney my neighbour had an anemometer which recorded gusts of 105mph before it blew away.

When there is this much fuss about wind in the media, you have to wonder if activia is about to make a killing

Colleagues tried to land at Edinburgh ealier this morn... three times the pilot gave it ago and then abandon. The lads are now back at Heathrow .... lol

I'm giving it a go later on, but on a small plane flying out of City I doubt my chances.

It'll be shame to miss the Smoker (the annual xmas diner for what was once the scottish arm of the London Stock Exchange) and the piping in and addressing of ... the Haggis

Its calming down now in Glasgow.

Was a bit mental around 8:00am though. Sat behind a double decker watching it rock back and forth on its wheels was interesting.

I must say I did enjoy Police Scotland's warning around 8:50 this morning advising people not to travel when everyone was already on the roads.

Decidedly underwhelmed by the hype today, in Glasgow atleast, wind was obviously noticeable, but hardly extreme. cycling in this morning was much easier than expected.

Had to return metal cold frame to proper place in garden, had been blown right across it. Luckily no glass in it. Luckily as well no trampoline any more..

Stop it my sides are splitting,
1 hour ago we recorded 75mph in our yard and had to suspended wagon operations. Its easing down now though but our bulk outloading bay door is destroyed & various bits of roof are missing.

I'm on the top floor of a seven storey building and to be honest I am not really appreciating the way that it is shaking and wobbling. The sounds of tortured metal are causing me some concern as well....

The top bit of a lamp post nearly fell off outside our office. It was very exciting until it we realised that it was not going to fall off.

No snowing but because of the gusty wind it is a bit like being inside a snow globe. Nice.

Just had a blast of hail and a flurry of snow in Hope.
Wind is getting really scary - Peak First Aid are still outside their office running practice sessions, could be useful later!!

Power flickering like crazy, radio been on and off, sent everyone home and may bail out myself in a bit.

It's the non-wobbly buildings you want to watch for, they're the ones that fall down without warning!

1 larch tree cleared
1 beech tree de-limbed and cleared
3 truck loads of firewood
1 battle damaged chain saw 😳

Plenty more to do tomorrow but I'll have to resort to the smaller husky 😡

Mcmoonter would be proud!

I was doing my CBT today and it was aborted due to high winds. Quite hard to learn how to pootle around on a scooter when the wind keeps on side swiping. 🙁

The BBC now have a picture of Teesside on their UK news page - the end times must surely be upon us.

Overturned artics seem quite the thing around us. Never seen a dead one on its side before! Which greatly enlivened the 4 and a half hour journey from ramsbottom to Chorlton and back
