Need to sort our en suite ready to sell, so more concerned about it looking decent than shelling out on the best quality.

Was considering this but not sure? Are plumbworld ok? Will it just be dreadful? Any other options to consider. Needs to be a LH L shaped shower bath suite with 1700mm bath max.

Just list it and sell it acknowledging it needs to be sorted out by the new owners.

We did this in a previous house with the kitchen.

Think about what most people do when they move into a new home?

I stuck a bnq on in our old house - was probably a bit cheaper than that, but not significantly. Lasted the 11 years (half rented out to tenants) that we owned the place fine.

check ebay for ex-display stuff

There’s a leak that needs repairing which has made a very obvious visible stain on the ceiling in the hallway right where you walk in. It would put me right off and I’m sure it will others. For the sake of 2k or so I’d rather get the leak fixed and get the en suite made presentable. I think it will be cost effective.

Have you seen this thread https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/the-avocado-bathroom-suites-of-the-future/ ? That ticks an awful lot of the suggestions (square toilet, waterfall tap, pop up waste). If it really is just for resale then I'd go for more normal looking items personally. That said I would't do it at all. Get it not leaking and paint over any historic damp patches, maybe even clean the grout and re-do the silicone, but no way fit a whole new suite

Wholesale Domestic were very good for us. For the price paid the quality has been perfectly acceptable.

Don't be scared to ask for a better price either, or have a search around for some discount codes if you're set on ordering via the website (e.g. a quick Google has thrown up 5% off - 5offjan21)

I'm not sure the one you linked too is the best with regards to mass appeal / selling. The square-ness is pretty polarising.

Fix the leak and decorate?
Avoid putting cheap rubbish in that'll swiftly become actual rubbish.

We had a bathroom in a box from Wickes which was perfectly serviceable for the 8 years between us putting it in as a "that'll do for now" and actually refurbing the bathroom.

Depends where the leaks is I guess. If it means having to rip everything out to fix then cheap and cheerful as above.

If not, then this is all you'll need - 🙂

Not sure if plumbing trade merchant places are open at the moment but when I had my bathroom redone a couple of years ago my plumber suggested I go to one he uses as they had a good showroom (rather than just select stuff from the Internet). Saved me a load in the end as got the bath + screen and sink/cabinet unit on a stock clear-out sale and they priced matched the Internet for the toilet and shower unit. I think the only thing I paid the standard price for was the sink taps. Might have helped I was there with the plumber but they were open about pros and cons of various options I was looking at and didn't try to steer me towards expensive/non-sale stuff.

to make it look acceptable you will have to redo any tiling and floor coverings as well I bet. You will not get your money back

Lol at the avacado bathroom thread. I quite like the square style, but admit I hadn’t clocked the waterfall taps which are shite!

Ok, food for thought there. The floor is pretty rotten under the shower (you can feel how soft it is - we stopped using it pending a refurb and used the main bathroom) so sure that will have to be ripped out at least. Maybe just get the shower out, fix that up and stain paint the hall ceiling?

Will have a chat to my wife later.

£2k for a sale? Sack that, £100 for a bathroom in a box from one of the DIY barns. That one you linked to honestly doesn't look any better than a budget B&Q offering.

Either go budget route with a cheap vinyl floor (easiest thing for a new tenant to replace when they get round to it) on top of some moisture resistant chipboard, spend money you will never make back or fix the actual issue and leave it to the buyer to fix. Of the three I'd choose the first or second as a buyer, nobody wants to move and then deal with redoing a bathroom especially right now.

This.

I use our local Grahams who have a helpful couple of staff, happy to guide a doofus like me through the choices, show me the good deals and ensure I have remembered that widget/pipe/sealant I always forget. They also in my view are close to the big barns in price, yet the product are generally better quality and don't use some obscure size from china (BandQ downlighters, towel rail and tap mounts, I am looking at you) that you can never get a spare for. In fact they are often cheaper if you buy on the deals.
