Currently having our bathroom plastered and planning the flooring. We have a roll of vinyl flooring to go down once subfloor has been sorted.
Plan currently is;
To raise floor approx 55-60mm (we have a solid concrete floor and by raising with timber it will allow running of new radiator and water pipes underneath)
Lay 18mm TG boards on top of timber and then 5/6mm plywood on top to give smooth surface for vinyl floor.
However, we now have an excess of 10mm tile boards (foam core) which are suitable for flooring. Does it sound feasible to use these instead of the TG floor boards with a 9mm ply over?
We already have the tile boards so will save money as well as approx 15mm to take of the door?
Depends how flexy the resulting floor will be. I'm also not sure I'd be happy with a potential toe-stubber height change.
If these are supply pipes, you could chase them into the walls instead?
Having a quick look at the boards the flexing is my biggest worry, I think I would need to floorboard - tile board- ply - Vinyl floor which seems to be adding an extra layer for no gain
Can't chase into walls a)don't fancy going into freshly plastered wall an b) radiator is moving sides of the room so either across the floor or up over/under a door
The foam board will at least give you a thermal break.
those boards are no good instaed of the floorboards, not strong enough, they have to be fixed over floorboards or a concrete floor.
Bigfoot has it. The boards are suitable for use in flooring, but not as sub-floor. That is, they could go on top of an eg chipboard or ply or board subfloor, underneath tiles. But not instead of a subfloor.

T+G chipboard fitted well gives a dead smooth surface. No need for ply. 22mm chipboard may suit better depending on depth you need to make up.
Hold on, just thinking this through - I read it as you want to raise floor 60mm. But on second read I’m thinking you dont, you’re just trying to fit a 15mm rad pipe under the floor? Also, you have a concrete floor - is it insulated? I’d be fitting 20mm PIR board, cutting out for the plumbing, floating 18mm T+G chipboard on top then vinyl.
Forget about the tile board, it’s not helping you here.

Goldfish - that's interesting as everything I have read suggest using a thin layer of ply under vinyl floor. Using 22mm boards would be perfect as with timber would make up the 60mm 'new floor height'
The floor is being raised, to accommodate water/rad pipes as well as some waste pipe. Due to the concrete floor it was easier to raise floor then the chase into concrete. The door frame has already been raised just over 50mm
No, concrete is not insulated, planning to add between the new floor joists
Agree with Goldfish, why raise 60mm?? does it need to come up? insulation board over concrete with 18mm (or is it 22mm) TG chip board is what they put in new houses now, rad pipes routed through the insulation, albeit the insulation is 100mm over concrete generally, you can batten out the floor for extra rigidity and drop the insulation into it if you wanted to be fancy but bathrooms are generally not big floor spaces to need it.
Gives you a 40mm raise inc. vinyl, if you need to raise 60mm just put 40mm PIR board in.
