I'm about to fit Wetwall shower panels in the bathroom. These are good 11mm panels with a plywood (not mdf) backing. The state of the walls mean that they would need too much preparation for tiles, before the "useful" suggestions arrive :o)
I know you're supposed to have an aluminium trim between the bottom of the panel and the bath to stop standing water getting in but the trims just look like tatty scotia bead so I want to bring them straight down with a simple silicone bead. Would that be OK?

And I'm hoping that basic Screwfix style No Nonsense clear silicone will be fine both as an adhesive and a joint sealer.

A bit late for me to post, I'm hoping to start this afternoon (gulp)

It's a conundrum innit. A nice clean concept with mega shit ALU strips everywhere.

I also need to this at some point so registering interest.

I've siliconed mine straight to the bath, no alu trim there.
Just fill the bath with water first then do your silicon work. I did this 6 years ago, no leaks

Use the sealant and adhesive EXACTLY as stipulated by the board manufacturer. Ask me how I know this.
