Buggerfunk..... Upped my running mileage a couple of weeks go followed by a few days yomping in the Lakes. I now have a recurrence of ITBS which is stopping all play 🙁
Usual Brufen/stretching/RICE but no running, no skipping, no jumping. Bollix.

Foam rolling is your (very painful) friend.
foam roller. work the tight spots till you cry.
I tried foam rolling for along time, with mixed results. Saw a very experienced physio a few weeks ago who was adamant rolling can alleviate symptoms, but that strengthening of the hips, glutes and ITB itself is the only way to get lasting cure. I'm doing strength exercises daily now so will see.
Of course, other than the potentially excruciating pain, there's no reason to actually stop doing anything with ITBS
