Anyone been to both and which one is best for swimming, slides and general fun for a 7 year old who loves swimming?
Are there any other choices within an hour of Chichester? been to Chi's Westgate and Petersfield's pool both with the one slide and fancy a change, Romsey Rapids still any good?
IDK Basingstoke, but kids did Spectrum loads when they were little and Coral Reef at Bracknell worth the extra 15 mins TBH
Yeah I looked at Coral Reef in Bracknell
Works out at over £50 for an hour and 30 min swim, add on fuel and food and it approaches £100, we could take a walk round Swinley Forest whilst we are there
Aquadrome in Basingstoke comes in at £23 for an hour and there is plenty to do/food around, the Spectrum is £30 for an hour and 30mins and again lots of things to do around
Is aquadome the sports centre in festival place? If so it's shit. Esp with kids.
Over £50? Are you bringing the whole class?
I couldn't quite believe that but looked at their prIces online and WTF!! It's gone up a bit since mine were 6 and 8!!
Wow. It's not that good.
@ Ewan, No that's the sports centre pool, Aquadrome is in leisure park by fire station. As well as pool has Ice rink, Cinema, Bowling, Bingo, Golf and Indoor skydiving.
Not been for years so unable to say if any good or not.
15 minutes extra and go to Splashdown in Poole if the kids like slides.

I've taken the kids to the Basingstoke one but it's a bit crap. If you didn't want to drive the extra then Romsey Rapids just outside Southampton is better than Basingstoke.
The Triangle in Burgess hill is within your hour. Has some slides and rapids and an outdoor section. I expect your 7 year old would love it.
The spectrum is unbelievably noisy, more than any other pool I had been to. Went a few times with kids though. Although missing slides, on a sunny day Petersfield Lido is excellent. Swim, muck about and have an ice cream or cup of tea poolside.
I wasn’t sure that Romsey Rapids was even the best place in Romsey
That just tells you how bad we found the Basingstoke pool. It had 3 slides of which only 1 was working but that was about all it had
The Romsey Rapids are lame.
I or my eldest daughter might be biased against The Spectrum after 2 (according to her) near death experiences.
She knocked herself out when she slipped getting out of one pools at the bottom of a slide.
The other occasion was a spot on her ass cheek that became infected and made her seriously unwell!
Needless to say we have never been back, more because of logistical reasons rather than those listed above.
I haven't been, but isn't there a lido with slides at Aldershot? Could be the best of both worlds. Spectrum stuff but without the intense noise, infected spots etc and a nicer outdoor environment? Might not be though....
