At Leeds first direct arena for a gig this Saturday, and need to find somewhere near but for various parties to meet up. Any recommendations for a decent bar / pub in close proximity to the arena?

Not decent, but when I was up there for the Gerry Cinnamon gig a couple of years ago, it seemed that the whole venue was in the Wetherspoons. Made for a good atmosphere....

Who you going to see?

Merrion Street (Verve and Mojo) and Belgrave Music Hall are my usual stops before a gig at the arena.

You've got plenty of food options there too.

Sela Bar, North Bar, and Belgrave Music Hall are some favorite haunts from my time living in Leeds. All right next to the Arena.

There's a Weatherspoons (Stick and Twist) right next to the arena, which is one of the nicer ones. It's usually full of people going to the gigs so not full of locals.

Other good bars nearby; Belgrave, Social, North Bar, Mojo.

North Bar and, if you can face it, Brewdog. Mojo is good too (have a Flatliner).

If you are coming to Leeds on the train, go to Bundobust for amazing veggie Indian street food and some great beers (they also do tasting trays of beer).

If I was only going to one bar it would North Bar. If thats too busy Belgrave Music Hall isn't too far and has more space.

And another vote for Bundobust from me.
