Dunno, but it's at least £30 everywhere else, so thought it was worth a try - I'd report back but I won't be opening it for a while.

Asda have a bit of history with this kind of offer on malts - huge discount but not labelled up as a sale item.

Which one ?

I'm not dignifying that with an answer. 🙂

I do like that Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold. Very light and easy drinking. 🙂

Waitrose had it on special offer in November for £25.

Leapfrog. It's like alcoholic engine oil.

I polished a bottle of the American Oak off over the festive period. It would be a nice malt at £30. At £20 it's probably the best bang-for-your-buck whisky out there.

I got a bottle of Aberlour Abunadh cask strength and glenfiddich rich oak t'night for my birthday - very happy indeed as i've had a bottle of the Abunadh before and it's a belter of a dram with a wee touch of bottled water. The glenfiddich rich oak is no slouch when it comes to taste either.

I used to enjoy a Jim Beam wi a can of coke from the freezer over big chunks of ice n' lemon but after a hangover from hell a few years ago even the smell of it at ten paces turns me queasy these days 😥

I use it to "marinate" my tobacco pipe due to high alcohol content need more than 40% ...

It makes pipe smoking a pleasure. 😆

for mainstream malts (and for some not so mainstream) outside the festive supermarket dumping promotion season, our best outlet round here is the local garage (actually a pair of garages) - has been that for decades now - usually pick up a good Glenfarclas, Pulteney, Aberlour or similar for decent sub £25 ticket.

Yup, I'll go along with that. A pal gave me a bottle at the weekend and very drinkable it is too. But now I know how much he paid for it 🙂
