My wife's phone screen is damaged. I have the Barclays tech cover but I didn't register the new phone when we got it. The policy document I've just downloaded from the app says nothing about registering phones. Older ones do, but they have changed provider and claim site portal etc recently. So what do you reckon is best?
1) Attempt a claim anyway?
2) Try and register new phone then claim tomorrow?
3) Give up?
You no longer need to register each device, just claim. I've had my daughter's phone repaired successfully on that policy
Phew. I've also had a good look at the older document and it does indeed explicitly say that you don't need to register it, it's just a convenience.

Do you have to sign up / pay for this?
Barclays customer and never heard if it - plus have a scratched iphone glass screen!

yes. it used to be really good value but has crept up over the years. I've cancelled it recently. still have the travel pack on joint account as it gives cover for both of us for a single payment.
I've had a couple of phone screens sorted on it over the years, first few they just sent a replacement and picked up the old one but the last one they sent out a mobile van who did it in my work car park.
I too have cancelled it about a year ago, but I did claim once.
I hadn't registered the phone, but I simply registered it after the damage, and then claimed.

Still good value for a family though, I think. Phone insurance is expensive anyway now because people don't look after the damn things. It's £14.50/mo for four phones and other gadgets below £1,500 excluding cameras I think.
EDIT I may change my stance after I try to claim, mind!
it was pretty straightforward. £50 excess i think on a screen and the guy changed the battery for me at the same time even though it wasn't on the job booking.
Phoned it in, they registered the phone there and then and booked the appointment. Nice. £50 excess but I'm happy with that, it's a £300 repair otherwise.
