It's going to be a belting day here in Wigan and so the atmospheres totally going to smell of barbecue smoke and of burned burgers

I fancy a barbecue myself but am a bit sick of the usual

Anyone got any fancy suggestions that don't take an age?

Quick, mrs Coolhandluke is about to nip out to do the shopping!

Ribs - cut 'em up, then marinate in soy sauce, garlic and honey for 4 hours before cooking.

Meet my guru, meathead:
Meathead

It requires 2 hours marinating but I recommend the chicken breast recipie:

It's dangerous though. Before you know it you'll be setting the alarm for 4am to start your BBQ brisket!

What about some prawns, glaze them with sweet chili sauce.

Salmon cooked on a cedar board is good.

Forgot to say - when it's cooked, serve as pulled pork with crusty rolls, mustard, cheese, chilies, apple sauce, beer...

Not too much work? - chicken satay.

Peanut butter, lime juice, chilli, soy and a wee bit of oil mixed in, and smothered over skewered chicken cubes. Keep a wee bit for the end.

A favourite of ours, especially the wee yin is prawn lollipops!. Just 4 or 5 king prawns on a skewer and a bit of garlic n chilli butter for the last few secs of cooking. Ace.

You've got me in the mood now. 😀

Wigan, aaahhhh... Brings back fine memories. Had a mate who lived in hindley, used to head down from Scotland for weekends in Wigan, was brilliant. Not seen him for prob about 18 years, dunno if he even still stays there. Fish, chips, peas and gravy was amazing!.

Bit late answering, but yes, it does. BUT you need to keep an eye on it, it drips a lot of fat which then burns nicely, lots of flame which will blacken the meat but not cook the inside.

Tandoori chicken, home made seekh kebab and garlic naan was our last one. Nom.
Both easy if you get packet spices. Both healthy options served with salad and sauce.

That chicken recipe in the meathead site (link above) was lovely!

The recipe I posted for pork kebabs, wouldn't bother again.

Indirect heat cooking method on a Webber (or any other kettle I guess) is the way to go.

Steak. Seasoning. Turned once. Let rest. Eat.

Or, some home made burger patties?

Or some home made chicken kebabs?
