You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
No, not by the mods (yet!)
Mrs feet can't understand what I see about this place. She says it's wierd talking to stranger's about stuff. So she frowns upon me posting/reading about things on here.
Looks like I am going to have to resort to sneaky views in work/toilet time 😀
Anyone else suffer from this oppression???
What excuses do you use...
Mrs Louise Feet, by any chance?
It's probably for the best, but isn't it up to you what you do?
Just start looking at porn all the time instead. That'll learn her
Anyone else suffer from this oppression???
No.
HTH.
Divorce and then indulge ALL of your desires - STW will fulfil all of your deepest fantasies....
Welcome......
My wife loves reading the occasional thread on here. Although she also browses gardening forums so maybe she's just a boring ****.
Mrsz1ppy despairs of this site (or my constant browsing it), but as it has answered a number of her obscure queries of the years, she learned to [s]live with it[/s] despair silently
****OS

"Why were you so long in the toilet?"
Umm... well, I was surfing for porn and playing with myself.
"Don't lie - you were on that bloody forum again weren't you?!"
Arrange and go for a ride with other forumites.
Ergo, no longer strangers
So, how does she spend her time? Social media? Texting or phoning friends?
Most of the time she's talking to / with me
I call her Louise
Mrs feet can't understand what I see about this place
What's the matter with her? Mrs uponthdowns is not remotely interested in what I do on here. It just doesn't register on her radar. If it did she'd probably find it all a bit sad.
No problem here, except when every sentence begins with 'they said on singletrack that...'
My whole family has benefitted from this place more than once, and I have met some good people through the forum. Indeed, i (and my family) have been the beneficiaries of other people's generosity on quite a few occasions.
STW is very much on the approved list around here.
Actually, in all seriousness, this ^^^^^^
It's a few more helpful and positive place than FB et al.
Anyone else suffer from this oppression???
Weirdest thing I've ever read on here 😯 But that's mostly why I come on here, to get an insight Into other peoples lives and ideas.
"what do your little friends on singletrack say about......?"
"Have you asked Singletrack?" Is also not uncommon around here. My mum was highly amused when Google returned a thread to help her fix her coffee machine, it worked too.
She often asks 'what are you reading about?'
I can rarely answer with something important enough that it doesn't make me seem a bit odd, but meh 🙂

You have more problems than you will own up to.
Your wife sounds mean.
I started in a new relationship at the beginning of the year after a month it started.
"Who's that texting you?"
"Who are you going out with on the bike?"
"Why did you wear your new jacket to go shopping?" (I kid you not)
Me "I'm just nipping to my brother dropping a birthday card off"
Me "Whats up?"
Her "Why don't you want us to come with you are you ashamed of us/don't want your brother to meet us?"
(I'd offered several times for us to go but she was always busy)
Me "No its just I'm nipping there and back"
Her "I don't want you to go"
What followed was a short row and I finished it.
I don't get how people think they can control you, never dream of doing it to anyone myself.
I think all you sad husbands being ground under the boot heel of wifely disapproval should take your relationship to it's logical conclusion.
Just remember to agree on a safe word.
... and when asked, say "Mr Whoppit on that forum..." 😉 😈
'Its amazing what you learn on Singletrack' is a frequent phrase in our household. My Mrs is quite pro it.
Just how big is that thumbprint on your forehead? 😆
Your wife sounds [s]mean[/s].
Controlling.

@badllama - at least you are out of it.
The wife does ask what I am reading out/writing from time to time. She can spend an hour talking to her friend about nothing in particular so understands stw is the same. She did find it slightly odd shen I arranged to meet up with cynical-al for a beer but she liked him and so thinks all stw-ers must be ok really 🙂
Whilst Mrs B is not interested in STW herself, she is broadly approving. Without exception, all the 'Big Life' stuff that I have posted and sought the opinions of the STW hive mind has been met with compassion, earnest wisdom (mostly) and gentle support. STW has been an enormous help to me, and by proxy my wife.
OP: quite right to ditch her. Get yourself a low maintenance Mrs, who has the self confidence not to need to control you.
She says it's wierd talking to stranger's about stuff. So she frowns upon me posting/reading about things on here.
Your wife doesn't like something, so you have to stop?
😕 🙄
If you stop the forum visits, it will only incur the default
"What are you thinking about" question.
But try this

Introduce her to Mumsnet.
If you are willing to be abused, keep doing what you are doing.
When I owned a Landy I used to spend a lot of time on Land Rover forums and I even met up with a couple of other members on pay & drive days. They were of a very different ilk to the average cyclist, who is usually fit, slim, mostly open-minded and healthy. Actually I slowly fell out of love with Land Rover ownership as I realised what a money-pit they are.

Are you new here?
Hack into her Pinterest account and save all kinds of weird-ass stuff...I was going to do that to my wife's but she beat me to it. A billion and one uses for jam jars..... FFS

good move swapping to mountain bikes

Do just check she's not feeling generally neglected OP. 😐
Mrs JAMJ doesn't mind - although has got annoyed when I'm on here for a long time. She is amazed by how much knowledge there is on so many topics and has used that information often.
My wife introduced me to mumsnet. I go and read their threads sometimes to remind myself how lucky I am to have never knowingly met one of them in real life. They're properly mental over there!
Back to your problem though OP, your wife doesn't sound fun!
Those posters above have obviously never been on a Land Rover forum meet or pay & drive day! Most Landy owners are actually half man, half compost.
Compostist!
Tell the controlling nag that she's not allowed to go out for coffee with real life people anymore.
