Can I pay a cheque, payable to my daughter, into my daughters account on her behalf?

My daughter is abroad and has a cheque she'd like paid into her account.

I have her account number etc

Yep. You'll either need a preprinted payin slip, or to do it in her own bank though.

Unless it's a lot of money, anyway, money laundering etc might kick in

I think as long as the names on the cheque and the account match it doesn't matter who's doing the handing in.

As long as you have the details - just use the automated machine in the bank
