You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
where ya off and what ya doing?
We're off to Keswick first thing on Thursday morning until Monday. No bike is coming with us 😩
We'll be visiting Whinlatter I'm sure and the little wildlife park to the north. Probably the swimming pool and/or cinema judging by the forecast. Gonna try and drag the wife and the 2 yr old up Catbells, the 7yr old will do fine. The wife has agreed as long as I carry the 2yr old when she stops walking and sits down with her thumb in 😆
Off to Kerry tomorrow, bit of walking, bit of cycling, play with my chainsaw, beer and seafood. Can’t wait
Just get absolutely off my trolly probably.
Big Bike Bash for bikes, beer and bands. Bloody brilliant!
Roadtrip to CyB with some friends on Sunday. Pretty sad it's the end of summer and last BH till Boxing Day, but in every way possible, it's been a great summer for me.
Jekkyl - Just in case you've forgotten, the George Hotel gets booked up in the evening, so always book your table in advance. I presume you've done this already, as I always do, as you wouldn't want to be missing out on the legendary cow pie....

At home mostly, might pop into work on Saturday. Then a S24O Sunday night.
I'll be serving cups of tea at this fair in Suffolk, do come!

Oh no we are fully intending to visit the George binners. Would likely be first sitting in the restaurant so I hadn't booked...but good shout..I think I'll try the chicken pie this time...now quarter or half 🤔
Working.
Posh food and drink with Mrs Lunge Friday,
Parkrun and some bike tinkering Saturday, followed by beers in the evening.
Football and more beers Sunday
120 miles on the road bike Monday (Brum to Cardiff).
Looking pretty damn fine that is.
Undecided as to whether to do the Yorkshire Dales 200. Not sure about Sunday and Monday.
North Wales trial centres, Climachx Saturday, Coedy Sunday and Gwydir Mawr a Bach on the way home Monday. Really looking forward to Climachx as never been before.
@binners please don't post pics like that, I want George pie now and probably won't be going again until next year!
We have just decided to take the camper into the Peak rather than just drive and go home.
Will be taking the bikes and the dog so will be a mixture of biking, walking and relaxing.
Chopping down/pulling up many square metres of bramble, nettle, Ash, Hawthorn and blackthorn etc then burning most of it and making a bug friendly log pile out of the rest. It's grown up through the dead hedge we used to protect a rejuvenated laid hedgerow but that's now strong enough to not be vulnerable to deer munching.
Sunday is the final of the village 8 a side cricket competition, which my pub team has qualified for. Monday sadly is working.
Full list of do’ables.. will they all get ticked off??
Thurs eve: 22k trail run dans les Downs.
Fri: WFH, PM beers with me maytes dans le Club

Sum Of Awe
One day I'll work out Scotlands BHs - kids go back to school on Monday ?!
Off to St Ives for a nice, relaxing beach-front holiday. Can not wait to get away. Here's hoping the sun will be shining 🙂
Big Bike Bash for bikes, beer and bands
This! although not sure I'll cope with the last of those 'b's 😀
General relaxing. Hopefully a long run one day, a long bike the other and a bivvy out in the black mountains Sunday night with mini_likes_food. Fingers crossed for a clear night.
Working as staff in my shop have taken it as holiday - should get out on the bike at some point though.
Torn ligament in my knee, awaiting MRI.
So I will be sitting about feeling miserable.
But probably drinking beer and being waited on by 'er indoors. Although it won't be service with a smile as I seem to have knackered the plans for our week off work by crocking my leg.
[checks for auto correct "cocking" my leg!]
Taking my 9 year old daughter camping near Cheddar. I hope to sample some cheese and some local ales, plus a trip to Wookey Hole (not a euphemism).
No idea. Family off to the fatherland. Not feeling very inspired. Vaguely thinking of Snowdon ranger on Saturday evening but want to try to ride as much of it as possible on my new big bike .... which might not be a safe plan on my own
Naughty Northumberland!
Pushing up Snowdon Saturday for pushing bike up hill practice for future trip.
Riding Sunday as well. Home Sunday night to chill Monday visit family.
Give us a shout generalist if you want I’ll offer sympathy if you fall off. I’ll be heading down Telegraph Valley to finish. Pushing up Llanberis path. May have Mrs Marin along as well.
Am I the only one who thinks that stodgy looking bit of pie, limp cold over cooked veg and pale undercooked chips will be well over priced too
I may be wrong but it looks like a posher Fray Bentos now selling for a pound
Sorry Binners and George whoever he is, just looking I feel ive put half a stone on and badly need to burp and fart
Work work work ,the joys of working at a recycling centre or tip ,we never shut !!
🙁
Shambala festival.
Four days of music, beer and dancing all night.
Might be a bit fragile on Tuesday
A 🙂
Redmex - the photo doesn’t remotely do it justice. The Cow Pie in the George is possibly the finest thing you’ll ever eat! Truly the stuff of legend!
Jekkyl - I had the chicken pie last time. You’ll be unsurprised to hear it was bloody gorgeous!
What are we up too? I’ve just fitted a new drive chain to my bike, and some new pink things to daughter number 2’s bike, so we’ll be off out somewhere. 😀

That's why I just use the English ones - plus it means I get a day off when it's a bit quieter up north!
What time you starting Mr Marin
Probably a silly question. I'm guessing 5pm
Beer, bikes, painting walls.
Struggling to keep up with ex-elite racing friend at Torq 12:12....
Mister p, if you're near cheddar gorge on Sat eve sun am, keep a look out for Exmouth exodus riders. Should be coming through from about 23:00 sat eve. Stragglers about 1am sun I guess.
I'll be long asleep by then. But good luck to those taking part.
Yup 5 probably for the ride down. Pushing up about 3.
Great North Bike Ride on Sunday, 1999 cyclists and me doing 60 miles down the Northumbrian coast from Seahouses to Tynemouth
Out on the bike Saturday, location to be determined. Sunday will be a day with the Mrs, then hope to ride again Monday, but not banking on it.
We head off on holiday next Thurs so will have a few bits to sort out for that. Will also fit on a visit to family.
Carlos
Returning from Kerry, been doing some good milage and sleeping well.
Yup 5 probably for the ride down. Pushing up about 3.
Shhhhhh. Don't say that on the forum. You'll be crucified.
😁
I'll be later than that. Have a good one
Having just got back from a blissful few days in Torridon ( late Friday ) ..cleaning out the pig sty../ car after two teenage children filled the rear with takeaway food / drink cartons/ sweet wrappers / crisp packets.. on our long journey back will be high on the list ..avoiding the village later in the day in the aftermath of our annual show ( Bellingham ) when almost 90% of the population will be pissed up arseholes ..with the younger farmers lads looking for a shag and / or a fight ..or both 😁 ( a slight generalisation )..It's also the one night of the year where they go car blind ..staggering into the road without the slightest warning ..so leave that at home after 10.00am
Sunday ..hopefully get an mtb ride in ..somewhere localish ..while avoiding the roadkill from the previous evening
Monday ..not a clue yet ...
Just heading off to Gisburn as the forecast looks like today is the day to be riding 🙂
Have a great day , you lot! Whatever you’re up too!
Working today
Sunday will be leading the Muddy@rse leisure group around the 20 miles of non existent Singletrack in Friston (there is also a “brisk” group), hopefully it will have dried after last nights downpour (otherwise there maybe comedy offs along “caravan”).
Monday, mow lawn, probably see outlaws and maybe clean car.
I was meant to be in New Orleans with my dad sampling the local gumbo until the flight got cancelled (thanks Rolls Royce). Now on call for the next three days, so pretty much chained to the house. At least it's sunny.
Heading to the Harry Potter Experience tomorrow then having a day or two in London with my wife and children 🙂

Mine has been in school a week already, some went the week before.
One day I’ll work out Scotlands BHs – kids go back to school on Monday ?
Skydiving and lawn mowing. I may throw in a little bit of cleaning and some more skydiving depending on the weather.
I really wanted to get some new SPD shoes, but size 48 is apparently rarer than an honest politician and neither Sidi nor Northwave fit well.
Ace day.
5k cold and sunny autumn feel run.
Two and a half laps of a crowded Comrie, including new Uber tech black.
I've just polished off a Northern Light beer with a bolognese...
Hoping to get out tomorrow morning before the rain arrives at 1100ish, after mostly following dentist's instructions not to ride after having two troublesome teeth removed Friday (over two hours in the chair of doom), besides gentle commuting today. Gutting it was far nicer weather today, I was so tempted to ignore dentist advice and go for a slow recovery ride in that lovely afternoon sunshine after work, but I was good... Just!
I might try and knock out a second ever century on Monday (or later in the week), but this time, without a rucksack on my back and hopefully no puncture... Which hopefully means a higher average power where body heat can escape and significantly less time than May's ~9hours20mins over a ~9000 feet climbing route.
was going to ride all 3 days but an otb today currently has me with a bag of frozen corn on my knee and had to cut the ride short (my ms makes hitting knees super interesting, lose all strength of lower leg for a while so had a nice sit down for quite a while too!) . To add insult to injury I got home and then within 5 minutes had a migraine! Hoping to be able to ride on Monday...
Two and a half laps of a crowded Comrie, including new Uber tech black.
what's the uber tech black and how long has it been there?
Did my trail run, now resting a sore back (again) because I hoofed it down the Downs and ended up with rib shock 🤪🧟♂️
A proper decent bottle of white Rioja and Paella and Sharp Objects on the TV..
LOVLEY 🕺🥊
We walked out from Castleton over the top to Edale and then the Kinder loop and then back over the top to Castleton. Just under 7 hours. The first gin and tonic never touched the sides
@thegeneralist - high point of upper red after Decision rock, drop over first two rock features then keep looking for sneaky grassy line to left, rapidly back uphill in the Scots pines.
Been there since the Enduro.
They like them there thrutchy rock moves and drops...
Initial plans to celebrate my son's 21st were to go to Iceland but these were scotched a fortnight ago when my wife fell in Morzine and broke her pelvis. At the moment she is uninsurable. So we decided on a few days in London: the sights, museums, a show- proper family tourist stuff. Then the dog collapsed. Vet suggests the worst. Bank Holiday has delayed the blood test results.
The mood 'Chez Ambrose' is quite low to tell the truth.
Sorry for your run of bad luck Ambrose.
I got the girls up Catbells...well to the first rise at least..we took one look at the first little scramble and decided against it with a 2yr old...and the wife was getting anxious with the drop offs..some sharp words came my way 😆 and we trudged back down.. Still had a great time though..my 7yr old had a great time...'I wanna go up one of ones with cloud at the top Daddy'....😃😊

We headed to Whinlatter visitor centre for lunch, did the playpark and Highway rat trail, joined the queue with muddy mtbers. Followed by round the shops in Keswick and George for tea....farmhouse pie and Peroni...waddled back to the car.
Back to the hostel after the girls were settled I took myself up the hill for a twilight hike..great stuff...total solitude and peace.

Couple of contrasting rides already this weekend.
Standard Grizedale loop to bed in and tune a new shock. 4000ft of climbing in 25 miles, six or seven cracking descents, great fun.
30-odd miles in the Hambleton Hills of the North York Moors, another 4000ft of climbing, slogging up tussocky grass or shooting track and even some hike-a-bike for virtually no reward at all. Possibly the route was a dodgy one, but I will never moan about my local Dales trails ever again!
Currently sat in the tent and it's hoofing it down. Planning on heading to CyB for a ride but listening to people trying to drive off the site it might be fun just getting there! Proper bank holiday weather 🙁
It is proper BH weather, it’s 35knts and raining and we’re going windsurfing 👍😜😜👍💨💨💨💨💨💨
Two heavy falls onto my left hip at Staunton yesterday have put paid to any further plans. Bruising is coming out nicely though...
Well did the YD200 yesterday, took just under 15hrs, even got some cups on Strava - no idea how that happened! Today I'll mainly be slobbing 🙂
A couple of delightful hours on the rigid on the Ridgeway yesterday. Beer in the local now before heading home for the F1. Tomorrow? Maybe London for some photographing...
Despite beginning to rain just before I headed out, went up to Cheesefoot Head and back on the Wazoo... And then into town and back to get a set of keys to get in, after locking mine in the garage this morning! 😳
