Hiya, im after suggestions for the above.
Business is registered and almost ready to trade, but opening a bank account right now with Covid is proving very difficult.
Anyone know of online options or alternatives?

Thanks in advance.

Tony

I've been thinking about trying out either Starling or Monzo - they seem to have a good modern approach to banking.

I have a personal Monzo account and note they offer a business version.

I previously needed a separate business account, and settled for RBS - was pretty simple, online I think / telephone. Free banking for a couple of years within certain limits. Also ties up with FreeAgent which is a good plus point - I've found that very helpful for VAT and general accounting, as well as invoices and so on.

I know someone using Tide who is very happy with it (he set up at Ltd during lockdown) - and notice https://www.tide.co/ are promoting the ease of setting up and opening at the moment.

+ Starling for Business.

I tried and failed to set up an account with Metro. By contrast it took me about 5 mins with Starling from starting to download the app to finishing the application and downloading my new "virtual" debit card into the payment wallet on my phone.

Anything but TSB, worst bank to deal with and an old archaic system.
I'm changing to Monzo

If your business is in any way of an environmental/social/sustainable bent then you could do a a lot worse than join the Triodos bank. I have been with them for almost 20 years now and they have been great.

Starling for me too. Simple to use and works fine.

Another vote for Starling. It's free. I like free.

None of the big banks offer small business anything one of the online ones can’t offer these days.
No branches, no business bank person, just an old fashioned, no can do attitude.
HSBC and Barclays both utterly useless.

I set up my Starling business account during lock down. I had to resubmit my business proposal/idea to them a couple of times before the account was finally opened but all good so far.

well application completed. No trade body affiliation yet as the qualifications results are delayed due to Covid so lets see if that causes any issues...
