I'm going to have a day free in Bangkok early next month. What are the must see places and must do activities (Keeping it fairly clean!) Based in the south of the city with only public transport and google translate!

You shouldn’t need any translation apps or the like, just smile a lot and always be polite. Get yourself to a skytrain station and spend the day hoping on and off that. Go to a temple, to chatuchak market, koh san road if that’s your bag, the mbk centre, lumpini park and maybe a river ride. Plenty more to do but you should just have a look about and see what takes your fancy. I love Bangkok, it’s a great city.

Wat Saket was our favourite temple. Nice city to walk round with public transport to do the longer legs. There's a river bus that is nice for a different view and to get around.

Decide what you want to do, hire a taxi for the entire day and squeeze in as much as you can.
