Back in ye olden days I would just look through Sounds and see who was playing.
What's the best portal to show me what bands are coming up?

Dice is brilliant. When tickets are on presale, it takes 2 clicks to buy them.

I also look through Facebook, venues,.bands I like. Only reason for having a FB account

There's also concertarchives.org which now lists gigs in advance

it is, but it’s only a subset of promotors/venues.

Bandsintown tells me about gigs in the US and all over the south of the UK despite my preferences being set to London only.

songkick seems to work, and I’m getting decent alerts for bands I’ve added to my library on Spotify.

There’s lots of sources, a good start is making a list of artists who you’re interested in, then start looking through the various ticketing websites, like Dice, Gigantic, Ticketmaster AXS, who often have lists of artists.
Running a search for London venues would also help, they’ll give you lists of artists who’ve got tours up and coming.

Do not use these scumbag thieves.

There's also - skiddle.com

I buy music from bandcamp and the artists list their gigs on there too. Like Dice/skiddle/bandsintown it's not every artist and every gig, but I thought that was why we were listing multiple options
