toys19 you speak of logical analysis, so here is something for you to contemplate.

Is it logical or illogical to be involved in behaviour that does nothing but waste time?

You have not contributed anything of any worth, to this thread and have therefore been acting in an illogical way.

It was not necessary for you to mention the shooting and subsequent killing of the dear, it served no real purpose and was not relevant to a thread about photographing dear.

Is it logical or illogical to be involved in actions that are not necessary?

Further more, before you start in with your useless utterly deluded self justifications or insults, bare one thing in mind. I'm not coming back to this thread and you just read this.

Mr Spock it's not like you to talk Gibberish.

That's unfair. The stalking techniques were informed and very useful, whether for the purposes of photography or [s]senseless killing of timid beasts[/s] hunting. 😉

What good would stalking techniques be for hunting praytell? They're completely unrelated - hunting deer involves a pack of hounds and lots of horses, Stalking involves a precision rifle and fieldcraft 🙄

Its like saying that Steve peat could win the Tour de France, 'cause he's really good at riding a bike!

That one's lost on me, is stalking not a form of hunting? I was taking my lead from the expert:

intentionally taking a stance that is opposed to the very spirit that threads are started in.

Umm wrong. The OP called the thread Bambi Pic The Deer Hunter" and he said

"I bagged this one today "
using clear hunting metaphors.

clear hunting metaphors

Like those well known "mountain biking metaphors" like Peloton, Poursuivants, Crevaison, Tete de la Course... I mean, its all the same isn't it?

Toys is talking about Stalking, not Hunting, conflating the two merely shows your ignorance, and when you're throwing around comments like "senseless killing of timid beasts" then I'd suggest that a position of ignorance is not a good one to make a stand from...

OK, I've learnt two things today. Stalking is not hunting. I assume you'll be correcting the rest of the internet on this?

"Deer stalking is the term we use in Scotland for hunting and shooting deer"

As for throwing around comments; That's why I struck out the 'senseless killing.....' comment and added a 😉

Even Toys didn't fall for that one.

@sharki

Love the Roe Deer in the snow pic. 🙂

---

Personally, I don't worry if people shoot them to eat, but not for fun.

Toys was only talking about how to approach deer and whether your planning to kill or photograph them is another issue. I'm in the photograph camp, but if I was hungry enough they would be on the menu.

Couple more here from the next sd card:
