As title.
Can anyone recommend a Balti house in the triangle in Brum? Going to the German markets on Friday and Saturday, so it seems rude not to sample a bucket of spiced meat and things and a nann the size of the Indian sub-continent.
Staying central so not too far out, taxi ride distance please.
Thank you.
Diwan balti on the Alcester Road towards Moseley is a favourite of mine. And the Prime Minister apparently, but don't let that put you off.
If you go to Diwan I can recommend the Balti Chicken Shambar ( chicken with mashed lentils )
Bump for the [s]skivers[/s] day time crowd.

It always used to be Adil's for us but they moved away and weren't quite as good. But they're back on Stoney Lane and reports are that they're good again.
These days we go to Sheereen Kadah (543 Moseley Rd) which is cheap and great. Although the pastry based starters are disappointing.
Best place in the area at the moment is Viceroy Tandoori in the jewellery quarter. Really up coming place and is getting great reviews everywhere.
You'll need to book in advance.

"I love Adil’s, have done for years. It’s one of the original Sparkbrook balti houses – the famous balti triangle – and was opened by the current owners’ dad back in the 1970s. It’s proper ****stani/Kashmiri cooking, and one of the few places left that still does a table naan. That’s exactly what it sounds like, by the way: a huge, freshly made naan that just about covers the entire table, like a gorgeous, tasty duvet. You tear off a hunk of bread, use it to scoop up some curry and shovel it into your mouth. It’s always the sign of a good night when you wake up the next morning with two orange fingers – that’s almost a Brummie badge of honour. Little high-street businesses like this don’t survive for more than 30 years unless they’re doing something very right. Other than the bread, I always order chicken balti with spinach and extra chillies. It’s a classic."
Adil's is looking the part so far. I take it it's a bring your own alcohol? (Proper Balti)
Thanks.
