Popped a box of camenbert in the oven last night with the intention of enjoying with crusty bread. When I opened the box the cheese was a congealed lumpy mess rather than the creamy smooth lovliness I was expecting.
What did I do wrong???
Lid off, cook at about 180 until it feels a squidgy mess, cut a cross in and dip in the bread.
Mate has this with ultra cheap lidl cheese
A box? Dear god! Do you not have a specific ceramic receptacle for baking Camembert?
You are aware this is middleclasstrackworld? This place has been going downhill for some time now. They'll let anyone in nowadays. People who bake Camembert in boxes are little better than animals!

It sounds like it was in the oven for too long. You just want to melt it, not let it cook.
Can't you microwave it for 15 seconds?
