Pretty amazing cakes for a first week, but the dry beaver just gave them no choice but to go with it.

On the very first bake off, the contestants made a fruit crumble. The bakers are now being asked to produce baked goods that are ridiculously tricky and should imo be in week 8.
Also please can someone cart off Noel.

It always feels so bad watching the first person leave, & it's such a shame to have gotten in, but go so quickly. We reckon they should not do a 'leaver' for the first week but have two leave the second week. So the actual competitors feel like they had a good chance.

Home baking standards have improved since the first Bake Off though! 🙂

It's supposedly going back to more proper baking this series, with less of the rubbish that merged into cooking.

As long as there's pie week, I'm happy 😀

"So... tell us about your beaver...." has to be one of the best lines ever delivered

very sheltered life my wife

No kidding!!

Love a bit of Bake Off and I'm looking forward to less of the 'weird' stuff they had introduced over the last couple of years.

I'm not sure Amos should have gone though.... shame.

I read all the reviews saying that the new presenter was a breath of fresh air, really livened the programme up, etc. Then I watched the show and just found her really annoying. Maybe she'll get into the role with a bit of practice, but for now I'm really missing Matt Lucas, which is not something I ever really expected to say.

I laughed when Amos did his little run-in—a-circle to stop himself crying. Am I cruel?
You lot should be having a sweepstake on who’s going to win, not caring about the contestants!

I really want to know how the BSL interpreter for the hearing impaired contestant (not up to speed with names yet) coped with the whole "bone dry beaver" situation.

You'd better stop watching now, she looks to have dialled her screen persona right down for week one so you'd better bail out before normal service resumes.

Nicky's beaver is being heavily featured on Extra Slice as we speak. With a few moments/reactions that didn’t make the show....

Nicky’s beaver

Nicky is obviously a genius, they'll probably offer her a job in the writing team
