All the matrix films and all the star wars films. They're all entertaining as long as you don't take yourself too seriously. All the bad reviews I've seen of the ones that serious film watchers don't like sound like they're so up their own arses I'm surprised they can see the screen. They've all got great imagery, good action scenes and keep you watching. If ropey plots made bad films then I can pull out plenty of classics that are awful.

Just watch and enjoy, as soon as you start analysing popular media you've missed the point.

Back to the future? Back to the future? A stone cold 80s classic? It has no place on this thread...

Nor do star wars episode's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 (checking rotten tomatoes the worst reviews were for episode one?!)

The first 2 matrix films shouldn't be here, but help yourself to the 3rd...

I was going to suggest flash Gordon, but... It's 80% fresh on rotten tomatoes...

I Really enjoyed the first Transformers film

The last one, however, I never knew robots punching each other could be so boring, when the credits came up and it said "written by" I was genuinely shocked that someone hadn't just shat it into existence

I'm assuming when people say 'Dune' they mean this little beauty:

Easily my most watched film, although about 90% of that viewing was when I was about 12 years old.
I also really like this film:

@senor j: there's a lot to like, but I think the thing I like the most is the art design- sci-fi meets victoriana gothic. I think that Event Horizon took a lot of pointers from this!
