OK this is stretching the STW recommends scope to the limit

Been playing backgammon recently.

I've got a cheap roll up travelling set and it's great for camping and weekends away

Can anyone recommend me quality bigger set to play at home?

I'm thinking a few £100 rather than a few £1000 (it seems you can spend an obscene amount if you wish)

My wife is half Greek (Dad's side) and she has always said you have to be in Greece to buy the right BG set for the reasons you have highlighted 🙂

Yes a trip to Greece would be nice but that does blow the budget a little

Wow I didn't realise they were expensive. I've got a set in a leather case that came from the charity shop.

Surely any will do?

GF's old man is Persian.... If you believed him anything worth having is from Persia/Iran.

Just find one you like in a shop or online and buy that.... Doubt the playing surface is going to have much to do with the outcome of the game.

Car boot sale find for us

Leather box and playing surface with wooden bits and dice.

£5

It was a bit mouldy, 20 min of cleaning and it was fine
