Anyone know of any Backgammon forums? I've acquired a high end backgammon board (Hector Saxe, for those who know) but have no use for it and want to sell it to someone who would appreciate it. Any ideas where to start, apart from this post, obviously.

EBay. Play it a lot but on a rubbish board so tea and beer stains don’t matter.

I love Backgammon, but I doubt I'd be able to afford such a set. Good luck, I hope it goes to a good home.

Well... That would be my next question. How much would 'such a a set' be worth? In general and to you?

You seem to know what it is, so stick it on eBay and see what happens!

I know what it is, but I don't know anything about the context

Depends what it is I guess, there's different models. They're a few hundred quid new but whether you've got one that's particularly valuable (or particularly not so valuable) I don't know. I'm far from an expert other than being vaguely aware of the brand.

Care to post up some pics? It won't help me in the slightest, but I'm curious to see what you've got.

Ok, is there a way of doing this with this format?

Nice thing.

Is there a lid for it or a case or something? Curious that it's not hinged.

Answered my own question. For your googling purposes, that is apparently a "tabletop style" board.

As far as I can work out, if it were new you'd be looking at about £600, and if it's real leather (which it doesn't appear to be from the photos but it's hard to tell) then over double that.

Well, it was from a casino. Not sure how to tell the real leather was of it. But that is very good news.

Cheers

No worries.

Don't quote me on that BTW. I'm no expert, just interested and a bit handy with Google.

No, of course. Thanks for pointers.
It's pretty, but I don't have any other guide.
