Gonna be having a family break with our twins (will be around 24 weeks old when we go). Can anyone recommend anywhere to stay (hotel preferably) that is baby friendly - ie, lift or ground floor rooms and has space to move our massive pushchair around. Also recommendations for places to eat etc that are equally baby-friendly.

Not bothered about where, but we normally like Windemere area (Ambleside). Don't want to go anywhere too small as we won't be that mobile with the pushchair so shops to wander around is a must.

Just stayed in Grasmere last week. We had a self catering place but there was a Best Western that seemed pretty popular. Havent stayed there myself but trip advisor ratings seem ok

Plenty of shops to wander around in Grasmere and Ambleside is only a short car journey away. Also the Baldrys tea room is worth a visit. I didnt have any but they served a huge slices of lemon meringue and the cakes were very good
