Great film, no flaming necessary from here.

I'm easily pleased, but I don't get the high ratings - a few decent car chases and a bit of a nice love story is all I saw.  The other 70% was pants, or I'm not educated in the arts enough 🙂

Great soundtrack... Terrible film. Just didn't get the hype. Very dissapointed. But hey, glad you enjoyed it! Just not for me.

Great use of a lesser known awesome Queen track

Loved it, HOWEVER can’t look at it the same way after the Spacey shenanigans... we kept shouting at the TV “get out of the lift Baby!!” when the two of them were in it alone

I viewed spacey as he was prior to all the Hollywood shenanigans, a great actor. I'm a builder type so probably not the most well positioned to comment on "the arts" but I thought it was beautifully filmed and edited, an incredible soundtrack and I just most importantly enjoyed it. Mrs ws was a bit non plussed mind, philistine 😂

Was good until the final third, which felt a bit stretched out and pointless.

Always found Spacey annoying and one dimensional, so he was a negative for me before the shit hit the fan for him anyway.

The two young leads were great though and - as mentioned - a cracking soundtrack.

Starts great, then slides to ever more pish as it goes on

Alarmingly I enjoyed watching The Accountant more the night before - and that has Affleck in it!

It's a weird one. Watching it i thought how cliche and generic it was , the guns and the chases etc. But looking back i really enjoyed it and would love to see it again. a big silly dumb film hit, just what you need sometimes.

It's absolutely supposed to be a pastiche, I just think it loses it's way a bit in the final act.

As above the soundtrack is great and pretty much makes the film for me.

Loved it, refreshingly different, great soundtrack. Yes the story isn't all that but you don't get much time to think about the flaws.

Unimpressed.

I drive faster without crashing with a better soundtrack.

I did want to like it...

Starts off great and turns into a ordinary film. Top heavy too, all the best bits are at the beginning.

Simple entertaining film proof there is no need to try for a complex plot or story.

I watched this last night, avoided it for a few days but I really enjoyed it..

It has a charm for what is really quite a violent movie.

The music, the driving sequences and the acting was really entertaining.

It's amazing how different people like different things....

People actually pay to see transformers in the cinema and all that!

Baby Driver
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3890160/

Scores well with the public and critics there so maybe you either weren't in the mood for it or didn't get it?

Really? Baby Driver was well acted, well shot, directed well, had a great score that worked, had a plot, moved through it's acts was well edited and more

Transformers the last whatever was actually a bad film, I mistakenly watched it on a plane good old sir Anthony practically counting his money on set, the most memorable bits were the continuity cockups in Northumberland.

Another on a plane king Arthur daily was an appalling film, very much up there with some of the worst of 2018.

These days didn't like is becoming it was bad, it's ok not to like things but we should all respect things done well that are not to our taste

no it didn't, that's the ironing right there. think about what you are saying dude,

you loved it and reckon i should respect something well made but not to my taste

i thought it was crappy and very poorly made from top to bottom and none of your claims are anywhere near* what i thought  *some good tunes but didn't work in the film

that's why i'm amazed people liked it not because you are right and people who thought it shit weren't in the mood or didn't get it, maybe it was shit

glad you enjoyed it though, i recommend an avoid at all costs

The backwards skidding J turn (not sure if that's the right description) in the first chase had me rewinding several times.  Enjoyed it but wish there had been more driving scenes like that.

[showing off hat] I've been out with Terry Grant, thrashing the shit out of cars parts of which I've made. This film was blancmange. [/showing off hat]

Car pointing the wrong way in the pit lane:

"Terry. It's a race day so you can't drive the wrong way out of the pits"

Terry: "OK".

<selects reverse, hits the rev limiter and then dumps the clutch screaming backwards out the pits in a cloud of smoke, J-turning it onto the raceway>

Ed Wright again makes a ''non-traditional' film. Some people love it, some think it's garbage. Go figure.

See also Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.

For the record, I think that cinema needs more Baby Drivers. Different, creative not playing it commercially safe. Punk cinema. YMMV.

I enjoyed it, not in a hurry to watch it again though - just a decent throw-away Saturday night film. Could have probably been a lot better with some decent twists but was pretty predictable. Was anyone else thinking how similar Jon Hamm's character looked to Negan (Walking Dead)?

*some good tunes but didn’t work in the film“

the whole film was about the music and nearly all the action is synced to the beats.  It blew me away the first time i saw it at the cinema.  Rewatching the weak ending becam more apparent.

I'd say the opposite. Mostly rubbish tunes, but they worked well in the film. Can hardly remember it really, it was so long ago.

Yeah, I actually preferred the soundtrack of My Brother The Devil and I'm not even into grime.

Was pleased to note the film name was a Simon and Garfunkel album track after Spotify spat it out the other day.

Very good film, all the more so because of its individuality.

6/10, tolerable untaxing friday night fun, sound editing was good, last half hour was crap.

probably wouldn't watch it again though. Too many plot holes and stuff that just wasn't believable (even within the world that it set up for itself).
