You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
No woad - Ahm ooot
It lacks the full “we’re coming to kick your head in” vibe that you only get with a full pipe band.
Here are some schoolchildren, some from my kids school, doing a much better job of it in Grand Central Station a few weeks ago....
If you'd like to suggest any other awesome Scottish music tracks MrPants... Go ahead.
90s house seniorj? 🤪
Alex Menzies
perchypanther
Yup, needs more bagpipes. 🙂
I am rather disappointed.
I thought this would be a thread highlighting the musical heights of The Proclaimers critically acclaimed back catalogue!
And bagpipes too obvs.
clanidonia - seriously ? are you taking the piss out of the SNP announcement yesterday or something ?
Plenty of good scottish music out there - but clanidonia is not it.
I'm guessing that's not the "official video" ^^
Dropkick Murphys have let themselves go.
It's hardly Del Amitri...
Thank FK seniorJ saved the thread fae a shite shortbread n tartan death.
Fur a bit mair modurn they Young Faithurs are no bad anaw
Was wondering if this was an obscure thread about a new BoC album. Sadly not.
Awesome Scottish 90’s house music jekkyl! 😌
Bit of eighties?

Needs more Peat & Diesel.
Not forgetting
Young fathers and Heron valley are worth a listen.
I ****in love a pipe band though, that must have sounded phenomenal in GCS Perchy. 💙
I **** love a pipe band though, that must have sounded phenomenal in GCS Perchy.
I wasn’t there but the people who were tell me it was awesome. The New Yorkers love a pipe band too , doubly so when they’re all kids
The band were there for the Tartan Day parade.
I heard them at full pelt in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall the week before when I was there to see my own kids in the other NL Schools bands.
I love that our schools encourage such musical talent
Yeah it's listenable (op's choice) but it ain't comparable to Martyn Bennett
Aargh... I can't stand the yankee/westend wailings of Biffy! 🤮
Martyn Bennetts a great call
shooglenifty and depending which album peatbog faeries
saltfishfourty
And of course (but again dependant on which album) Skippinish/Tidelines but that might be verging on a bit shortbread and tartan for some..... Probably shouldnt look up Old blind dogs in such case.
^^^
I only logged in to post that.
Right then...
Blimey that actually sounded okay. The first three seconds that I listened to anyway...
How about this? Includes the best guitar duet (as opposed to solo) in indie...
I did walk past King Tut's this morning but despite moving around in Scotland for a week, sadly I've heard no Scots music. I feel deprived.
Aargh… I can’t stand the yankee/westend wailings of Biffy! 🤮
Mon the Biff!
Mon the Biff!
I guess they do share the er, taps aff aesthetic of the OP's favoured (shite) band
trail_rat.......... I'll tell my mates in Old Blind Dogs they're a bit " tartan " .. they'll love it 😂😂
Spoilt for choice
Surely there is nobody with blood running through their veins who is not stirred by this:
"trail_rat………. I’ll tell my mates in Old Blind Dogs they’re a bit ” tartan ” .. they’ll love it 😂😂"
Ha Johnny will love that.
I assumed by geex suggestion that anything scottish folk was tartan to him.
I love a bit of pished mumbling.
I knew Big bloody Country would turn up! Yeurgh! 😆
😊👍
For the record Minstrel Boy is Irish but awesome though the Joe Strummer (Black Hawk Down) version is the best.
For Scottish bands Big Country were amazing but for a fairly mainstream song Its hard to beat Freightened rabbit
If Its 90's house your after Id go with pretty much anything from Billy Kiltys 23rd precinct label , Sublime being my favourite.
Nae Skipinnish, Tidelines or Manran?
From an an absolutely amazing album. Hurry on boys , the Skids.
The best one from the Corries.
Or for something a bit more modern Niteworks are good. Kind of inspired by Martyn Bennett etc.
I knew Big bloody Country would turn up! Yeurgh!
🤣 Could be worse, could be Simple Minds...
Sons and Daughters, really sadly missed.
Oh, Tweed are pretty good, first saw them when I went to see mumfords at aviemore.
Rythymnreel too if you like that kind of stuff
Wot no Frightened Rabbit, King Creosote or Kid Canaveral?
Oops yes, I knew it was Irish - the sound of the pipes got me all excited.
Quay sessions with Roddy Hart on BBCRS is worth a listen.
Did anyone notice how close the Corries were from being wiped out on the road to Killiecrankie, two a breast singing on a busy road nowadays you would be dead
Yes really!
There is a video of this that uses stills of poor broken souls from post industrial Glasgow, but I cant find it.
Robin Williamson.
I still have the debut album by these saucily dressed 80s chaps. Features some Edinburgh scenery for those who may recognise it...
^^^
looks like half the people I used to know (scars), the aztec camera vid looks like the other half.
Must relisten to that postcard stuff I er, posted.
not had this yet?
Arab Strap - I love a bit of pished mumbling.
Deffo. Have more.

Talking of Embra gadges
You an Embra gadge Dez?
Deinitely not. If I was any further south I'd fall in the channel.
handy to know 😉
When young Shirley wasn't the only erm.. gadge in the band
Actually, that sounds pretty terrible now. But Scottish anyway.
Bit like those other shite bands that got away with it back then - Hue & Cry, Deacon Bleugh and Del Amitri. With their fake soulful vocals. Grim.
Agree about GBMM
Big John was the only talent there IMO
I've got that on 7" ^^ 🙂
I had it Dez.
Gave away all my vinyl 20 years ago
A friend of mine is mates with the two of 'em
Embra's only a wee toon
