Just saw these on YouTube, looks fun I thought.

But then I googled, and there's a €1000 order fee. Then a €9000 instalment, followed by a €9000 final payment.

It's cool, runs for 40 minutes and claims to do 30kts.

But it's €19,000. Plus VAT. Makes my chosen toys look like a bargain! I don't really get it.

If I had the money, I probably would.

What I couldn't figure out is how they get on the board to a standing position, as it's more like a powered wakeboard, but obviously with a WB you're being pulled upright.

I expect there's probably a slightly undignified 'kneel on the board' moment that they've cut from all the fancy videos...

More likely would be a hire facility at a beach resort that would buy them, rather than individuals? (apart from very rich individuals).

Be great to hire one.

(I suspect the standing up on the board would be a lot easier when you're not on waves, or haven't knackered yourself from swimming out to waves)

seen a few similar to these in action in majorca, but the ones I saw had a small petrol engine. They looked like fun, but I didnt see how they started .

However like most jet ski's they seemed to be piloted by absolute dicks, one nearly crashed into my boat.

Sure looks a whole lot of fun but fairly limited run time & cost is just 😱

Looks like a something that will be popular with the same type of people who like jetskis.

We already have PWC similar and don’t cost anywhere near that kinda money.

I don’t want one of those, not the one posted, in my line up thank you very muchly.

2 came along to Hayling the other week and promptly got told to **** off.

Well DezB we have a jet ski hire co in Sparks Marina around the creek from the club...

Waaaah wah whaaahhh wa... crunch..

Is normally how they sound.

PWC’s, the motorised versions, are coming under some new MCA regulations shortly.. so if you are planning to get one of these you’ll need to abide by the new regs.

I think IIRC, that includes HiVis, a dummy, fluffy ears on a full face helmet and go-pro (obviously) and a self inflating vest.

🤪

while i agree it looks anti-social and shit. I'm enjoying the irony of bikebouy grumbling about other water users and telling them to **** off.

TBH that is the response the first time I went windsurfing at a proper surf break. I was warned about a couple of places in the Canaries were your car would be off the cliff if you even parked there with windsurfing kit on the roof. 😁
