Just wondering how everyone avoids seeing sporting results before highlights are available on TV?
With the TdF underway, I don't really want blackout all other news coverage but I don't want to see the results until I tune into ITV4 late in the day.
Same with F1 results on C4.
I mostly use the BBC News app but Google knows enough about my browsing history to drop items into my newsfeed.
Just wondering if there's an app which blocks/delays news topics across multiple news sources??
Can’t say I’ve been much interested in the TdF this year, but I normally watch the highlights religiously. Have tried different stuff over the last few years, but my only way of avoiding knowing who’d won a stage was to just listen to podcasts and/or Spotify from around the last 30mins of the stage. And avoiding all radio 5, twitter etc until I’d watched the 7 o’clock itv highlights. Trying to do that till a late night show is going to be fun. 😀
I do love that you had to put no "spoilers" in the title.😆👍
No radio, TV news, news websites, not even swiping left on my phone to bring up the Google feed.
It's almost impossible to watch highlights of a big sporting event hours after it happened these days, too much media everywhere.
don’t watch tv, 6 music is unlikely to mention much sport.
Turn your phone off/ don’t use a computer for anything other than work
Put fingers in ears when some one starts talking about it?
I watch repeats of Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads
I impose full radio silence until I've watched it. Mind you, I tend to watch the full coverage (on catch up to clip the adverts).
I watch Songs Of Praise and Antiques Roadshow re-runs. 😉
I didn’t know the TdF was on!
I once avoided watching a Welsh rugby game in work by facing the opposite direction and putting in headphones, not checking my phone or news sites. (I would be leaving work before the end of the game, and wanted to watch it properly, with a beer, without being interrupted by work and stuff.)
Walking home, I made it to within a half a mile of my house before a small child ran out of a pub a bellowed “Wales have won!”. 🙄
Avoid Brian Glover.
