Can I am why though mate? My son and his partner are meant to be seeing it in 4(!)D this coming Friday.

Personally I'm not keen on 3d movies, Tron 2 is a good example. When there was a lot of action going on my eyes/brain had real trouble "processing" it all. Really made it hard to enjoy.

Isn’t there already an Avatar thread? Anyway, I loved it in 3D - thought it was outstanding!

Don't know - I was too annoyed to search for it. Mods please delete this thread and give me back 3hours of my life.

The 3D is the only good thing going for it and even then it's Jaws 3D style of "watch out - here's a harpoon poking out of the screen at you" rather than "ooooh immersive SFX underwater world that cost $250m to render"

Spoiler
I was so happy when monkey boy's facemask was damaged as I hoped he would die - but at the back of my mind I knew it was too early in the film for that to hopefully happen....but it was okay 'coz he saved the day with his lifejacket that was the focus of an hour's worth of film.

Utter shite. If you want to watch a James Cameron underwater jizz fest of SFX - watch Abiss instead.

Having read some reviews that said pretty much exactly that I decided not to waste my precious time and money on it.

Just because you had a terrible experience is not an excuse to try to ruin it for other people with spoilers.

I didn't watch it in 3D but I loved it. 3 hours absolutely flew by. Good solid entertainment.
