I have two old (non-remote controlled) amplifiers I'd like to try and power on/off via the TV remote. I was hoping a device exists that can detect a HDMI/Scart signal to power a relay mains switch.
Does such a thing exist?
You can get remote controlled wall plugs if getting up off the sofa is a problem (ive seen 6 gang ones so you can individually turn power supply on/off to various devices)
Yeah I was hoping for something abit more slick but that is probably what I'll end up doing. The amps sit in different locations so it's abit of a faff switching them on, or more often the case, forgetting to switch them off.
I found [url= http://www.lindy.co.uk/power-c8/power-accessories-c341/energy-saving-products-c350/ir-infrared-automatic-shutdown-socket-p3795/s3937?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=ir-infrared-automatic-shutdown-socket-73116&utm_campaign=product%2Blisting%2Bads&gclid=Cj0KEQjwlK2iBRDk0Jnjso6AgM0BEiQAdX-iY_zp6B9_hZSaYUUUJbrWzP5dvCENgz24VeonH14zlAMaAiIZ8P8HAQ ]this[/url], I think my 1st world problem is solved...
You can get current sensing power blocks - they have a master power socket which is monitored for current, when the current exceeds a selectable threshold power is switched on for the other sockets.
