I've checked and it appears that the BBC cancelled Autumn Watch, due to lack of funding.
However I think Chris Packham is going to be on the 'One Show' tonight to talk about Autumn Watch. Maybe it will be aired, I really hope so.

Watch this space.

Autumnwatch was cancelled earlier this year, with the reason/excuse given that the cash would be better spent on Winterwatch & Springwatch instead.
Great to see Iolo back though.

They are filming at Arne in Dorset at the moment according to the reserve manager.

@jobro - I volunteer at RSPB Arne one day a week and was with the reserve manager on Tuesday, no mention at all of the BBC being on site. The BBC are back at Arne for Winter Watch and Spring Watch 2024 though.

I can sort of understand the reasoning behind not doing Autumn Watch, because as a season it’s really not distinct enough anymore. We’re in autumn now, nearly the end of October, and my rose has continued growing and it’s now nearly seven feet high with six new buds on the top, and my big Acer is still producing fresh new leaves, making up for the lack of rain over the last two years. 🤷🏼

8 out of 10 Bats started last night on Youtube as a sort of alternative Autumn Watch. On four nights a week and for two weeks. Seems to be a bit more unrestrained from BBC politics.

Chris Packham and Megan McCubbin were filming at the Dundreggan woodland re-wilding place in GlenMoriston at the weekend and I understand that this is what the One will be showing, possibly today?

I was speaking to the staff there last week and they reckon he'll focus on the bats this time, they've been preparing roosts for them.

It was disappointing to say the least. No viewers film footage. There's still time yet, but I miss the proper programmes.

There's a new rewinding program coming. There was something on the BBC news website.

Bruce- Do you mean rewilding? I'm confused (easily done) :0)

No, Bruce is correct, they’re showing repeats from last year, Craig David’s the presenter 😉

Sorry rewilding, my phone decided to change the meaning.
I am currently reading Wilding by Isabella Tree.
It's great what you can do with a few hundred acres, we will keep trying to make our postage stamp garden as wild as possible!

Shame, although despite being into wildlife/nature have never bothered with Autumnwatch, etc personally.

Here's a still from our hedgehog house the other night though! Put one out a couple of weeks ago after we saw hogs in the garden for the first time & it's been used every night since 😀

My (not so) wee (now) pal Xander is on the Chris Packham show this evening, so there's a little bit more continuity 😀

I too have read her book, it's one of the best books I've ever read.
