Call me old fashioned but I have always had my drawing command toolbar on the right hand side of the screen.

In Autocad 2019 they have placed the drawing toolbar on the left. For the life of me I can't seem to undock the toolbars to be able to drag/ relocate them to either floating toolbars or move them to the right hand side. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

It changed from 2015. Hold down ctrl to temp. move things then save your profile, open drawings via your saved profile

Aha very true.

Problem solved. Autocad 2019 has no customizable floating toolbars for Apple version. The programmers probably couldn't be arsed. Installed 2016 instead. Works fine.

Thanks anyway.

I know they had to redo all the toolbars for 2019 as I believe it's the first version to properly support menu scaling (for uhd monitors) this may be why they dropped support for some of the classic toolbar stuff.

I bit the bullet and switched to the new layout a couple of years ago after resisting for so long

New layout as in the ribbon?

I made the leap a year or so ago, didn’t take long to get used to especially if you customise/tweak it a bit.

I had a custom menu for years and had to make the switch a few years back because of Revit. Painful for a few weeks but worth doing.

I'm a civil3D user.

The ribbon is fantastic. Not being able to move (remove) the dreadful toolbars would do my head in.

I've written a few useful lisps tonmake things more command line though because its still the fastest i think.

I always manage to get mine to look like AutoCAD of old - I'm dreading the day when they take that facility away from me!

I had a laptop full reinstall and it took me ages to get my 2017 to look the same as it did in 1999. Ribbons shmibbons.
