Yes! You don’t need to worry about it at all, it should take care of itself. Just watch out for reminder emails of your upcoming renewal and warnings about problems with payments, such as, if your bank card expires.
I think so. It's easy to miss though, I did last time which peeved me. So I've switched auto renew off. It's not due until December in my case. If I renew, I'd quite like it to be a conscious decision based on a cost/benefit analysis at the time. Not something that happens in the background with no input from me, unnoticed as I'm busy. I probably will renew, but default auto renewals wind me up. I know STW are far from alone in it though.
3x identical emails all landed at the same time tonight regarding confirming I'm happy receiving newsletters along with a 4th email at the same time stating my renewal order was complete.
They were then followed two minutes later by a receipt from Gofar.
Hasn't been any other email from STW apart from previous years auto renew receipts. So doesn't look like it's a thing and it's my fault for not turning it off.
Auto renew is now switched off - £29 doesn't feel good value and the auto renew has annoyed me.
Actually, just searched through my emails for the last 4 years that I've been a subscriber. No notification of impending auto renewal, just a confirmation once it's happened. A bit cheeky, at least my car and house insurers etc. remind me BEFORE they auto renew and dip in my wallet!

But the auto renew thing is cheeky, I'd like an email that just pertains to that, maybe from a different address to the usual stuff. To make it easier to catch my eye.

Same thing has happened to me the last few years, this time though, I've got a new payment card, so I'm going to let it run out, see how bad the forum is without. I'm not coming on here so much these days, what with the new forum quirks, and the advertising that I pay not to see, so it might stop me coming on altogether.
Getting caught out by, and annoyed with myself for not remembering it was set up for, auto renew. Is why I'm a freeloader.

yeah I turned mine off last year after getting caught out. Don’t think I’ve ever actually gotten a reminder email first, despite them implying that they send one. But then again they also claim I won’t see any adverts when logged in 🙄 🤣
It's been a long time since I signed up but I always thought the subscription was on a 'it will renew until you tell us not to' basis.
I can't ever recall seeing a 'your renewal is due' email.

I also had this happen to me last month without warning - only noticed it when it came out of the bank and I thought "what's this for". I've cancelled the auto-renew now though and I don't think I'll resubscribe to be honest.
Unlike the majority of you, I actually was here for the magazine. But the last 3 or 4 magazines I think I've only read about 30% of the content - it just seems to have become a lot of stuff I'm not interested in. Lots of roadie/gravel stuff - really low bar content like Chips and Hannah talking to each other or literally just printing random parts off the forum.
I really miss Cranked and Dirt magazine...
Mine tried to auto renew back in Jan but I didn't have a payment method so it stuck as pending. I then cancelled as I wanted to move the renew away from Christmas.
Was going to hold off further as I only really pay to get rid of the adverts.....I then got sick of the adverts so paid the £29!. I wish there was a non magazine price as I tihink i've only read it 2 or 3 times.
Also turned off auto renew now as I cant seem to get remove the payment method. Shady AF. Auto-renew should be set to off as standard IMO!

Just switched off auto renew as well, was also annoyed it renewed without warning as I was 50 / 50 about renewing. Next year I won't be unless the perfomance issues get resolved of they give us all an iPad on which the forum apparently runs fine.

Yeah I also just got emails about the payment being taken. I did know it was auto-renewal, but would've appreciated some advance warning. Seeing as the auto-renewal was technically booked in before the end of May, do we get the free jersey? 😉

I have found the mag isn't quite for me for a while now and the only issue I take out of the paper wrapping is the Christmas one to get the calendar out. The only mtb related media I tend to read now are the Misspent Summers WC and EDR books as well as their post race newsletters.
I keep subscribing though as I enjoy reading through the forum and would hate that it went under.
Pretty sure I've always had one, but it's easy to miss stuff amongst all the junk that comes through. Really need to do another round of mail list unsubscription.
I always renew anyway, it's pretty cheap seeing as a copy of Farmers Weekly is £4.50 nowadays. I purposefully didn't buy a lifetime sub as I'd rather pay more in the long run in order to keep Singletrack going.
