Why does apple’s auto correct sometimes (but annoyingly regularly) take perfectly good words that have been recognised and displayed correctly and then change them to another word that makes no sense in the sentence after typing the next word.
Other times when putting a word it will replace it with something that is not even remotely similar. So for a while it replaced James with a completely different name starting Mo, so not even like the letters in similar places on the keyboard. I’ve not saved the words, indeed even if I do this seems to have little effect when writing messages.
Almost like a virus has infected my phone.. On the latest iOS I believe.
Anyone else get this issue? Google suggests it’s just me. (As an example of the issue after typing “me” in the last sentence it was autocorrected to “Need” which makes no grammatical sense)
Not just apple. I'm sure auto correct makes things slower now because after you press send/post/whatever the sentence has all sort of stuff you are sure u never typed. It would probably be faster without it

That sounds a bit sinister to me, mind you I did see M3GAN last night at the pictures so I might be a bit overly suspicious. Nothing like that has ever happened to me.
As well as being really annoying it was a bit concerning

If it makes you feel better, I swap between an Android phone and an Apple 12mini and, yes I've noticed it's way worse on the auto correct lately.
I swipe type on my phone and often have the issue so I know exactly what you mean, I think I started a similar thread a few months ago.
Someone did point out that maybe it fixed more errors than it messed up, but obviously it's only the mistakes you notice - I'm not convinced though.
Also while we're on the subject when I'm swiping I can't make my phone swear, until today when I tried to type "duck" and for the first time ever it swore - so maybe something has changed with an update. Although f*ck is the only word it does seem to know.
Hahah!
I find swift key pretty good on android.
It kinda trains itself as you go, and you can 'long press' suggestions and select 'don't suggest'.
I don't really get on with the standard Google keyboard.
I emailed a primary teacher that I was keen on, that i had lots of various sized wellies for her outdoor class.
Except wellies became willies.
I expect she saw the finny side of it.
Do you have the autocorrect suggestion bar open above your keyboard? That gives three options for the word you’re typing and let’s you select the word you want. I use it all the time, and it’s very easy to get the words right when you’re typing. Most of that last sentence was done by tapping on one of the three selections given, meaning I only had to do one tap for a word, instead of having to do every letter. I can only type with one finger, especially as I’m doing this on my pad, and holding it in my left hand and using my right to type with.
After so many years of working with it, it’s got pretty good at predicting what I need to say. Occasionally, something will slip through, usually I’ve just missed a character.
Edit - and I’ve just noticed I’d missed ‘foe’ instead of ‘for’. Fixed now.
