I just read this:
https://www.mbr.co.uk/mountain-bike-routes/best-overseas-mountain-bike-routes/serfaus-fiss-ladis-launches-two-new-trails-438708

Should I take my 9 year old in August and will there be enough for us to do?

How weird. I was planning on doing a thread on Serfaus after my family trip 2 years ago.

What do you want to know?

Very compact bike park area, but with a lot of stuff.

Some great progression stuff.

Some interesting, traveley lift served lines too. Good variety, but nothing on the difficult side.

One if the only places in Austria where the signposts actually push walkers onto the dull path and bikers onto the interesting one. So much so that I actually wondered if someone had switched the signs around...

Anyway, I'm waffling.

Go there.

I'll dig out some more photos to give an idea of the riding...

Can we hire bikes there?

What else is there to do?

She will need really easy stuff. Perr's Trail at Cannock or Wolf Cub Green at Laggan. Is there any?

Any flat biking?

Solden is another Austria option.  Quite a lot of flow trails, lift accessed.  We go out of school season, so I’m not sure how much there would be to do.  But Área 51 looks a laugh, just down the road from the bike park.

Yes, defo.

Swimming pool with slides

And there also seemed to be loads of other stuff. When I skied there 30 years ago they were starting to really push the family aspect of SFL. It is near ischgl and StAnton, so seemed to go for that ( family heaven) differentiator to market itself against those two behemoths.

Had two greens mentioned. My kids would have loved it there at 6&8 years old but I don't know your kid so can't comment on exactly how easy you need it.

Any flat biking?

I'm in Austria now. Rode Serfaus Sunday and I'll do it again Friday, it's my favourite park.

Nauders is 40 mins drive away, serious natural trails, all the rocks and roots.

Been to Area 47 today, it's expensive but a lot of fun.

Brandnertal has some tracks closed, I was planning on that for tomorrow, but it's not worth the trek for what's open so I probably go to Solden.

Looks like I can get a 'package' with Expedia. Anyone ever done this?

A quick Google says Expedia is not a good idea!

Rate Serfaus over Sölden.

Nauders ain't too bad, either. Only trail to avoid is Bergkastell.... Really badly built. Otherwise most of the trails there are more natural. Bunker Trail and Schöneben trails are nice.

If you're in the area then you can go down the valley towards Latsch. Some great natural trails there, too.
