Probably end up gathering dust in a private collection. Would like to see that 0 to 100kph sub 3 backed up.

Delta S4 for me every time. Absolutely terrifying things.

I feel compromised now as I am of an age where I want them all however, here are my thoughts. Please compare and contrast.

1) Quattro Sport S1 - All kudos for starting the 4WD thing but you were compromised from the start with your engine hung out in front of the front axle regardless of how much they chopped out of the wheel base. I love you but you were the fashion starter and faded before the end. you are 3rd in my buy list

2) Lancia 037 - Yes, that was me having a small sex wee but honestly I so wanted this but even as a teenager I realised it was a Fiat 131 in a pretty frock and sports clothes. Number 2 on my buy list though.

3) Metro 6R4 - Built late to the race and looked like a Metro dolled up by the addition of cornflake boxes as wheel arch extensions fitted by a teenager on Barry Island. Did okay in Rally Cross but no thanks

4) Renault 5 - Yes but not quite enough. A bit too early to the party in the form shown. Shame as I like fast French stuff.

5) RS200 - Fords version of the 6R4 - Too late to take part and too ugly to attract me. Again, did okay after the event.

6) Lancia Delta - Supercharged and turbo charged with little more than some seat bolted to the engine and drive line. Should be my number one but doesn't pull the heart strings like the 037 and doesn't look as pretty as...

7) Peugeot T16 - Is my winner. Mad power, similar in concept to the Lancia Delta, 6R4 and RS200 but better looking. Still yearn for one after seeing one drive across a field and down a road very illegally when I was a kid cycling in France

I'll add for the Audi, don't bother unless you're Scandinavian.

Flash, I had you more down as a P17 or 38 from the catalogue.

I'd have the Audi, the 190E, the Mulliner Type R, and both DB4s.

I always thought that when your little man wasn't available, you just made do with driving a Bristol, obviously one from your birth year. A newer one would be vulgar and wouldn't match your tailored driving suit.

Wca suddenly gone up in my estimations

205 T16 . What a car. Truely a car from.the future sent back in time to destroy - when the French did mad.

The Audi and the 205 T16 are stunning, but my heart will always belong to the S4.

Peugeot 205 T16 for me!

I watched them on the RAC Rally in Sutton Park, Birmingham and they made quite an impression on me.

A completely bonkers car!
