So a good mate of mine fits the above profile...I am happily married (and wish to stay that way) so am not in the frame.

What I can't understand is why there is not a queue a mile long outside her house. How does an interesting, reasonable bright, fit as f.... ,financially solvent bit of alright find a bloke? (Midlands btw).

I don't think bikes'd feature much in your life if you're that age and you'd got yourself a 48 year old dolly bird.

I'd plan on buying a Mazda MX5, and w'de go for long drives out in the countryside with the roof down. We'd both be wearing Raybans. I'd drive quickly, it'd be very exhilarating, and the wind would be rushing through her hair (which'd look awesome). Upon arriving at our destination, we'd both exhale deeply; it'd probably look like we'd just had sex to any passers by. I imagine most older men our age would be incredibly jealous. I'd give them a "knowing" wink if any of them made eye contact with me.

I use a sack over the head and a billy club, but i'm barking mad with a short attention span and lots of patios

Thread really needs pics or a image of a film star that she looks like

Simple answer these days is internet dating, I think the days of forming an orderly queue at the front door are over.

😀

Give it twenty years; if you still feel the same way (I probably will) then don't be surprised if you hear the purring of an MX5 outside your house on a Sunday afternoon.

Tell her to get on pof. It worked for me! Although she will have to put up with a few idiots before she finds a good one. It's all good fun though!

I've noticed the girls of Tinder don't seem to be as mad as the girls of Pof. However there does seem to be a disproportionate amount of single teachers and nurses out there.

Being serious for just this post, but this ^^

Two very good friends of mine in Town are single too (one 46, t'other 50 & SWF's), have been for about 5 years or so, not because they're mad, but because they're beautiful people. And all the beautiful people of the opposite sex are either married, in or going through a failed marriage, a bit mad, look like ex city bankers now resplendent in corduroy, bankrupt, don't wash, or so self imploding they can hardly walk upright, smoke, or drive around in a cock waggon, or a combination of all those.

They're enjoying life though, no cats, opera, wild swimming/outdoor types that scrub up well, shower once a day, hold down decent jobs, earn more than i do, no interest in the gardener nor ToyBoys, one plays violin the other wears Jimmy Choo's, holidays range from Austrian Alps to Sierra Nevadan retreats. The elder of the two has the sexiest laugh I've ever heard.

Honestly, if the Mrs and I broke up I'd move in with both.

This. I've a couple of single male friends and they have been through the same experience, several times over. One met a woman through that Fitness Friends website and she's the most bonkers of the lot; absolutely off her chump. He's managed to shake her off but she actually moved up to the north from Southampton to be around him so it's all a bit awkward now. The other met a woman who was involved with some brainwashing sect; she tried to get him involved and then he discovered that she'd done the same with her previous BF and the bloke had killed himself.

Single, mid 40's all my own teeth, etc etc, TBH I've sort of given up meeting anyone, and settled into comfortable single life, it's got many advantages, I can do what I want, no-one minds my slight OCD-ish tendencies, go where I want, and the house doesn't smell of pot-pourri...

s'quite nice 😀

I just retold that to the wife. Once she'd finished laughing I got a bollocking for thinking it was funny.

Attractive woman single in her 40's?

No thanks. Plenty of attractive female 30 something's out there. (So I'm told about the dating 'scene'). It's a buyers market for solvent 40something men.

Harsh but true.

single nurses? Where?

There are several that I know of in Bristol, bur the average STW denizen will be considered an 'old man' by them. Sandwich Jr is there but he may object to you chatting him up.

I don't want to go out with them, just watch them through my long lens telescope.

On another point. My mate dated through one of the internet sites; met a few that were as mad as a box of frogs but also met some very nice 30-40-something girls.

And one stunner. He'd arranged to meet her at a station (central, busy, easy enough for her to walk away if she didn't like the look etc., is the done thing apparently) So he arrived promptly as expected, waited and saw this absolute angel coming towards him. He couldn't believe it was her as she was so much better than her picture on the dating site. Talking later - he asked how such an attractive lady was single and she said she'd missed the boat spending too long with a waster, and now as a mid-late 30's very attractive lady, she couldn't go out to bars and clubs because the only people who'd try and chat her up were total jack-the-lad tossers - 'ordinary' people were basically intimidated.

Hence why she'd deliberately picked a 'not the best' photo for her profile, to weed out the trophy hunters.

So don't be too quick to swipe left!
